Where Wonder Woman Lives

Where Wonder Woman Lives

Verse: Saturday morning cartoons and Marvel comic books
make-believe heroes doing make-believe good
but in the house where I grew up, just 3 doors down the hall
lived the one and only, the real deal, the best one of ‘em all

At the time I couldn’t see who she really was
Now with my own kids I stand amazed just because

Chorus: I know where wonder woman lives
2210 Peach Street on the corner of 5th
She ain't got no invisible plane
Just an old Mercury with blue faded paint
and a needlepoint on the wall sayin’, “Love always forgives”
I’m telling you I know where wonder woman lives

Verse: She was up before the sun, taking care of us and dad
our cheerleader, believer, best friend we ever had
Standing 5 feet 2 inches, 90 pounds soaking wet
heart bigger than Texas, the strongest woman you ever met

Life never had a problem she could not overcome
So I don’t think it’s lying when I tell her two grandsons

Chorus: I know where wonder woman lives
2210 Peach Street on the corner of 5th
She ain't got no invisible plane
Just an old Mercury with blue faded paint
and a needlepoint on the wall sayin’, “Love always forgives”
Man I’m telling you I know where wonder woman lives

Bridge: Don’t need no superheroes - I’ve already got mine
She’s sittin’ on the front porch hummin' Patsy Cline

Chorus: And she ain't got no invisible plane
Just an old Mercury with blue faded paint
and a needlepoint on the wall sayin’, “Love always forgives”
Man I’m telling you I know where wonder woman lives

The Ring (I See Everything)

(The Ring) I See Everything

Verse: Some people look at my hand
and all they see is a simple wedding band
no diamonds shining bright
but they can't see that ring through my eyes

Lift: To them it's just a scratched up piece of gold
but honestly - how would they know

Chorus: that every kiss that we ever kissed is there
And every breath and every touch
every hard time and every answered prayer
a lifetime of love
they can only see a ring
but me I see everything

Verse: I see that maple on the hill
where we laid our blankets down and time stood still
an ocean of hopes and dreams
a million little moments between you and me

Lift: And when the sunlight catches it just right
our whole world fills up my eyes

Chorus: ‘cause every kiss that we ever kissed is there
And every breath and every touch
every hard time and every answered prayer
a lifetime of love
they can only see a ring
but me I see…

Bridge Everything that means anything to me on this earth
wrapped around my finger, there's no measure for what that's worth

Chorus
