Bio

When Scott Thompson sings about pickup trucks, green tractors and the small town way of life, he’s singing his own story. Scott grew up on the family farm, working in the fields since he was five. His first taste of country music was soon to follow. Scott shared his father’s love of the greats like Hank Williams and George Strait but it took the prompting of an up-and-coming Nashville singer to coax Scott to the stage. He debuted with the most convincing rendition of “Where Am I Gonna Live When I Get Home” that an eight-year old could sing. That was just the beginning.
Over the next few years Scott learned to play the piano and strum a guitar. Always a hometown favorite, his talent continued to develop into his teens. He jumped into the local music scene, many times playing late Saturday nights with a band just to get up early and play Sunday morning at church. Scott even won a few singing contest, including first runner up at the regional Colgate Country Showdown in West Virginia. With a bit of inspiration and a lot of support he packed his bags and headed to Nashville.

Surrounding himself with the country’s best musicians pushed Scott to be a better singer, a better guitar picker and an all round better musician. Although he loved Music City Scott knew he would always be a farmer at heart. He continued to help with the family farm, commuting back and forth to Michigan until he packed his bags one final time for a return to the wheat fields. After a few years of playing with local stand-bys Haywire and the former Branded, Scott had the opportunity to form the Scott Thompson Band.
