Biography

SCOTT TURCHIN began this life in a small Southern town, wandered throughout the rural South and hopped a banana boat for Jamaica, where life was one great song after another.

All day, all night, Marianne. Or so it would seem.

Born to hardworking, intense New York City parents who brought him to California in the crazy 60s, Scott grew up on a steady diet of folk, rock and international music. Dreaming of being a great rock singer like Lou Gramm or David Bowie, SCOTT played James Taylor, Neil Young and Leonard Cohen songs like they were his own, and inspired by Sting, Seal and Don Henley, he finally started to write. Later, he was called by the Reggae music to write from and understand the Rasta perspective.

SCOTT's music has won recognition from local and national songwriter organizations, and numerous awards on showcase site GarageBand.com; he earned "Editor's Choice" in both Roots Rock and Reggae from distributor CDBABY for his first album, SCOTT TURCHIN, released in 2002. Former Director of the Westside Song Circle, Scott and his SCOTT TURCHIN BAND have played most venues in the Los Angeles area.

Lyrics

BETSY

Written By: SCOTT TURCHIN

Betsy, where'd ya go? I've been waitin all day, waitin all day by your side
running around for the ride, for a lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely smile
Betsy, where ya been? I started off yesterday with a grin
Now I'm losin my pride, yeah the darker side is written all over me

Well, I remember when you said "I love you" - it burns in my head Tomorrow where will we be led? Maybe love is spilling all over me spilling all over me....yeah
Betsy, I think you know I'm missin the way, ya make me feel today so I'm spendin my time on the borderline Betsy, where'd ya go?

CORNUCOPIA

Written By: SCOTT TURCHIN

You get tired of the sorrow and the strife
And you’re drowning in the river of your life, yes
But everything is according to plan, yeah

Trouble may come and the people dem run
dem run like the shade from the face of the sun
until Jah-Jah come, to take his children home, oh yeah

c1 Life is a Cornucopia, yeah
I can tell by the way it turns – and turns
Sometimes up and sometimes down
That’s what everybody learns, ooh yeah

so don let de sorrow a life get ya down
cause tomorrow is a brighter day yes and
everything will get easier, I say

plenty for all yes and all for one - come!
and one love gonna take us home - children
everything gonna be alright - alright

c2 Life is a Cornucopia
You can tell by the way it turns – and turns
twistin and turnin up to the sky
offering abundance - yeah

ANGEL JACQUELINE

Written By: SCOTT TURCHIN

Well green eyes don't seem so bright, they peer out on a lonely night and I, am dealing in second sight when I am picturing you

You're an angel named Jacqueline
Zhakeleena, Zhakeleena
In a fluttering of hearts and hands
Zhakeleena, Zhakeleena, ma cher
