THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE HERE IS THE VOICE ....

"A gravelly, deep, strong storyteller of a voice. He could turn the alphabet into something bluesy and emotive. This is raw, acoustic stuff throughout. It hurts and it hurts real good."
- Eliot Popkin, The Muse's Muse

"Reggae-drenched roots rock. That certainly took me by surprise.... he seems to be following his heart. He simply plays good music about love, life and our place in the universe."
- Vanessa Moore, DEMORAMA

Bio

SCOTT TURCHIN began this life in a small Southern town, wandered throughout the rural South and hopped a banana boat for Jamaica, where life was one great song after another.

All day, all night, Marianne. Or so it would seem.

Born to hardworking, intense New York City parents who brought him to California in the crazy 60s, Scott grew up on a steady diet of folk, rock and international music. Dreaming of being a great rock singer like Lou Gramm or David Bowie, SCOTT played James Taylor, Neil Young and Leonard Cohen songs like they were his own, and inspired by Sting, Seal and Don Henley, he finally started to write. Later, he was called by the Reggae music to write from and understand the Rasta perspective.

SCOTT's music has won recognition from local and national songwriter organizations, and numerous awards on showcase site GarageBand.com; he earned "Editor's Choice" in both Roots Rock and Reggae from distributor CDBABY for his first album, SCOTT TURCHIN, released in 2002. Former Director of the Westside Song Circle, Scott and his SCOTT TURCHIN BAND have played most venues in the Los Angeles area.
