American heritage with a contemporary country folk rythym and blues flare.

Biography

Started playing the wooden cigar box with a hole cut in the top, a half a yard stick for a neck attached and then strung up with some rubberbands when I was 5yo. Got a real guitar when I was 11, a classical strung up with steel strings put out by Decca. My mom got it given to her by a friend, it was a bear to play, and then she got me some lessons. I was not a natural. Listened to my brother and sister's 45's, mostly CCR. Got into songwriters like John Prine and Jackson Browne. Was raised in FLA and the Southern Rock movement inspired me by the likes of Allman Bros, The Outlaws, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Heard The worlds greatest guitar player Roy Buchanan on PBS Soundstage and was mesmerized by the sound of the Telecaster.

Blue Skies Sunrise

Written By: Scott L. Rexroat

verse 1

Blue skies sunrise
mornin' break before my eyes
there's a road I have to ramble on
there's some songs I have to sing
I knew since yesterday
things would come my way

verse 2

and I've seen so many bootless people
throw their lives away
just because they've had a few bad days
try to tell em but they dont wanna hear what you say
but now and then I get those
grim clouds hangin over my head
I know they'll blow over
I'll see them clear skies again
I look for...

Repeat Verse 1

I've got my morals Lord
I've got to much pride
If somethin's not worth it to me
I let it ride
and you can talk of love pretty baby
or you can run and hide
cuz now and then and again
I hope to find someone
who'll take my hand
and will walk down this ol' road
'til it all ends
we'll look for them

blue skies sunrise

My Pony is Strong

Written By: Scott L. Rexroat

The river is high
the valley is low
can't see the sky
for the tears I cry
the flood took my home
my family my light
now the river is high
and the valley is low

The night is dark
and the trail is long
but my pony is strong
I'll ride until dawn
yeah my pony is strong
I'll ride until dawn
the river is high
the valley is low

my spirit is broke
and the water is deep
no guns at my side
and my body is weak
but my pony is strong
I'll ride until dawn
the river is high
the valley is low

Down on My Knees (Well Good-bye)

Written By: Scott L. Rexroat

Mornin' comes
I roll up my bags
the sun melts the frost on the ground
and I'm down on my knees at the crossroads
and I don't wanna say good-bye
but she does'nt answer loves question
from under her grey color sky
someones broken her wings
and stolen her dreams
and she don't wanna learn how to fly
and I'm down on my knees at the crossroads
and I don't wanna say good-bye

cuz there's miles of road
and I've nowhere to go
all I own is my time
maybe I could find a place
where I could say my grace
but brother it's a heavey load

and I'm down on my knees at the crossroads
and I don't wanna say good-bye

yeah I'm down on my knees
and lord I'm beggin' you please
bring my baby back to me
cuz there's to much road
to carry this load
and I'm to blind to see

and I'm down on my knees at the crossroads
and I don't wanna say good-bye
yeah I'm down on my knees
lord I'm beggin' you please
I dont wanna say good-bye

well good-bye

Discography

Have been working with Digital Performer audio & midi multitrack software for the past 3 years. Now that I have honed my engineering skills to an acceptable sonic quality, and obtained some decent digital plugins and analog outboard gear, I have started to catalogue and produce my songs. Please give a listen to my tracks and tell me what you think.
All constructive criticism is warmly welcome!

Peace,
