We are Screaming Daisies; four balaclava wearing, microphone toting, eyeliner applying boys from Cambridgeshire, who want to write life affirming songs, rock hard, have fun and start a new revolution with music lovers.
We sing about traffic jams, the media, voyeurism, mediocrity, post office queues and all the things we love and hate.
We recorded our first EP - The New Revolution - during winter 2010 and released it in January 2011 to great reviews. Dave Eringa, producer of many of the Manics’ albums, called September’s Ghost “really f*%$ing good”, with others touting it as a potential radio hit.
In March 2011 we released our second EP, including the tracks Drop Dead Jesus, Song For The New Proles and Millennium People. Dop Dead Jesus was debuted on online radio station XStream East on the Painter's Show.
Our first EP secured a deal with independent label DMN Records who now manage us and will be funding the release of our debut album later this year .
Under the pseudonym Drop Dead Jesus, we played our first gig at The Haymakers in Cambridge in January 2011 to a rapturous reception. Our debut gig as Screaming Daisies took place at The Portland Arms for R*E*P*E*A*T in March, quickly followed by a support slot for classic rock favourites Federal Black 40.
Our shows are edgy, energetic and entertaining and, more importantly, as much about the fans that take part as about us.
