Bio

Wahid’s exposure to music began when he was in grade school. His brother and sister were fans of R&B and Hip-hop, and he ended up listening to the same artists that they did. It wasn’t until he entered high school when he discovered alternative and classic rock. Among the bands that he became exposed to was Rage Against The Machine, which is his biggest influence. The first instrument that he learned was the drums. It wasn’t just a hobby for him, like it is for many. Everyday after school he would come home and play the drums.

After learning the drums he decided to challenge himself even further by honing in on his vocals talent, and soon after, he began learning guitar. Because he couldn’t afford a guitar at the time, he practiced on his father’s mandolin. Noticing that his interest in the instrument was serious, his sister’s friend let him borrow his guitar, which he still has to this day. After high school he purchased his own guitar. He then became exposed to Soundgarden, old school Jazz, and Funk, which helped diversify his playing.

He took his talents even further by learning how to play guitar and sing at the same time. This has enabled him to be the front man for his band. During college he formed Screaming Suns, and has written enough material to begin recording his first album, which is currently untitled. Drawing on his various musical influences he has crafted a sound that is familiar yet unique, making his music enjoyable to fans of 90s rock, and today’s modern rock.
