"SCUTTERNASH (Resurrection Fever)"

Ma passiamo all'ascolto……Che dire...
I migliori brani del disco a mio avviso sono "After The End", "Reptile Love" e "Scutter From Freedom".

"SCUTTERNASH (Resurrection Fever, October 2007)"

The Scutternash are a band that Italian self product in 2007 in "cellar" (like the first Van Halen ...) to register this new "Fever Resurrection", the album is the real confirmation of the group after the first demo in 2000 and "Real Fire" of 2001.
Curious and sympathetic to their biography, talk about it any five guys who are trying to achieve a common dream, tackling the difficulties and misadventures of who is really at point zero and must build its own path.
That history "any" is filtered and rearrange the texts of songs, but can not boast stellar production, to maintain their internal charm of the "street", of "this disc son made me alone!". And that is the beauty of "Resurrection Fever", the reality behind each track.
The songwriting is really exceptional, much less banal than what one might expect from a band emerging, and episodes like opener "Trident", "Out Of Control" and "Sons Of The City" feels the real strength of rock, the groove heavily influenced by giants such as Deep Purple, Dire Straits and Rolling Stones.
Riff exciting (frighteningly tasty than the aforementioned "Trident") and a breathtaking charge are the trump card of a disc that if it were not for the volumes are not very precise and well calibrated, a decidedly superficial editing and music stretch marks due to difficulties of home recording, it could really compete without too many problems in the European music scene.

"SCUTTERNASH (Resurrection Fever, November 2007)"

I don’t know many of you have been to Los Angeles, or have entered a typical country style pub and have seen the usual band that plays wholesome rock ‘n blues all night long, well I wouldn’t be surprised to find our entertaining friends.
What’s worse is that they may encourage people to dance and entertain all the passersby.

Forget resurrection, our friends go from rock to hard rock, well structured on the 11 tracks of the cd, with the typical hard rock sound that comes from the amplifier valves.
What’s more, the spontaneous work seems self-produced by this cheerful band, another reason of merit for the their brawn and commitment, don’t you think?

Eyes in the storm seems written to be envied by the guitar of a certain Slash, so as Sweet little suicide, keeping the level high on all the other tracks.
From 1999 when Scutternash were just an idea, they are now reality, very captivating and very rock 'n' roll live.

"Scutternash (Demo 2005, Self-Produced)"

Initially this “Demo” captured my attentino for it’s coarse graphics even though quite pleasing, it’s short duration and it’s hand written titles.
I felt frightened for the first fifty seconds when I heard a slusky melody come out from the speakers despite relieved I wasn’t listening to the usual death metal group (something I suspected from the gothic fonts), the first impression was negative, but I was wrong this work by Scutternash is definitely good, absolutely rock, and certainly not slushy.
Unfortunately it’s also very derivative, albeit being from a low frequented area.
The role model is one and only: The Pixies, always the Pixies.
I would like to know it they aglee or not.
In fact in their biography appear clearly the charter influences, musical herpes, role model, leaving the reviewer on his own.
It’s nice to know however that in this country there are not only nostalgics of thrash-metal, in itself good news.
Pass by again, my arms are wide open and you have the right chips.
But next tine remember to add a contact, someone might ask you to play!! (sg).
(Demo Song: Hypnotizer, Living Machine, This World Is Emtpy, Lost My Mind).

"SCUTTERNASH (Resurrection Fever) - (December 2007)"

Italy's SCUTTERNASH have just released a new album called ' Resurrection Fever'. The album contains eleven songs that kicks off with the punchy ‘Trident’ which is catchy enough, raw in sound vocally Raff Mongiana has a tone similar to Michael Olivieri of Leatherwolf and guitarists Dave Cusano and Mike La Rizza can certainly rip out a few chords.

‘After The End’ is fun and bouncy with keyboards, the song really grows on you and takes in many influences and styles, almost Alice Cooper in style at times, but always melodic, it’s a good song with only the production letting it down.

Crank it up next with ‘Out Of Control’, this is more like it, another fun track with cool guitars, makes me think of Bruce Dickinson. ‘Sons Of The City’ is more laid back and melodic whilst ‘Eyes In The Storm’ is typical hard rock from the NWOBHM style. ‘Sweet Little Suicide’ is more melodic, almost balladic with nice sharp guitars.

‘Reptile Love’ messes about with digital technology at the beginning making it a stand out cut. It is another fun rocker that unfortunately suffers from a poor production sound which is the albums major let down, however I can overlook this but I know many fans cannot and need everything crispy and polished.

The CD continues with ‘Living In The Darkside’ this song I didn’t care too much for being just mediocre against the rest of the material ‘Resurrection Fever’ is better, nice guitar tones and catchy chorus whilst ‘Scutt For Freedom’ is very melodic with great guitars and feel. Last song ‘Sandy’ features a cool slab of bass pumping, it’s another catchy song and is typical hard rock.

So then, not a bad release, but the band need to polish the tunes up and get a better production sound if they are to move forward. In the meantime check them out at www.myspace.com/scutternashlives and www.scutternash.altervista.org/

"SCUTTERNASH BIOGRAPHY"

The idea of the "Scutternash" project was born in 1996 from the vocalist Raff Ierace that after different musical and discographic experiences in Germany (band "Strassenblitz") and in northern Italy (band "Amplex 69") moves to Calabria.
Here, together whit an old friend, the bass-guitarist Cosimo Manno, begins the search of musicians to recruit, like the guitarist Mike La Rizza (in 1998) and subsequently in 1999, the drummer Nazza Pisani (this old friend of infancy of Raff and Cosimo has different experiences in smaller groups).
The four components succeed immediately in melting their different artistic and musical tendencies giving origin to a warm, modern and actual sound of Hard Rock. The notable artistic abilities of Raff, gifted with an intense and exciting voice that can be hot tempered, melodic and passionate to necessity, mixed whit the fresh compositiveness of the guitarist, brings a stylistic imprint to the birth of a very original, mature and involving sound that distinguishes the band.

In 2000 they record first self-produced Demo "Hypnotizer" that subsequently brings at the end of 2001 to the realization of their first official album "Real Fire", characterized by an explosive mixture, rich of immediate Riff and with exciting passages and loads of energy, immediately appreciated by the local public from which is formed a first team of fans that follow, sustain and promote the band.
After the participation to different musical demonstrations around Italy, the group at the end of 2005 is forced to an interruption by the exit from the band of the bass-guitarist, for personal reasons (Manno will keep collaborating, to sustain and to support, even if from a distance the group).

At the end of 2006 the three remaining components start searching for substitute able to amalgamate with the style created by the band, and after various auditions with local musicians, they succeed in engaging two new components whit excellent technical qualities and with evident artistic composer potentialities.
From "Apocalypse" arrive Manny Loielo at bass and Dave Cusano at the rhythmic guitar (both old acquaintances and friends of the components of the group).
After several live performances, in 2007 the band realizes their third work “Resurrection Fever”.

For the unexpected death of Cosimo Manno in 2010 the band will record unedited pieces realized with the bassist and never published, transforming this way the demo “Hypnotizer” in the first official record of the band in memory of the latter.
At the end of 2010 the band will return to the studios for the recording of their fourth record titled “Made to be Damned”……………….
