Bio

My influences are rooted in the classic singer-songwriter genre of the late '60's early 70's. I started playing folk clubs when I was 15, inspired by some Dylan albums my art teacher loaned me, Highway 61 Revisited, John Wesley Harding, and Nashville Skyline. At art college I joined a rock band "The Jack Rubies",
which eventually got signed to New York based label (TVT) in the late 80's. I was also signed as a writer to Warner Chappell publishing at this time. This group toured the U.S. extensively playing venues like The Beacon Theater in NYC, and Tipitinas, New Orleans.

After leaving this group, I started a new roots/folk band, Milagro Saints, which was signed to Raleigh based independent, Mood Food records, which had released the original Whiskeytown/Ryan Adams debut "Faithless St."
One of the touring highlights of this band was to be invited to play the Woody Guthrie Folk festival, where we appeared on the finale stage singalong with Arlo Guthrie. We also were chosen for the 50th anniversary 'On The Road/Jack Kerouac' show in his hometown of Lowell, Mass. opening for 10,000 Maniacs. I have also recently finished a CD collaborating with Will McFarlane, former Bonnie Raitt sideman and Muscles Shoals session player, called
"New Found Land"

I think one of my strengths is being able to write strong melodies and evocative lyrics, sung with
an honest, open and emotional delivery.
