SEA DEEP
Following her arrival to Toronto, Ontario on September 1st 2009, aspiring musician/songwriter Emily Howey settled into the new scene. Leaving behind the electric guitar in which she was formally educated with, Emily began experimenting with the raw sounds of acoustic instruments. With heavy influences in folk and blues legends such as Robert Johnson and Roscoe Holcomb, her vocals lay bare against guitar and banjo progressions. The solo project was given life when Mackenzie Howey joined his sister on drums, to form the folk band now known as Sea Deep. With the help of friends and fellow musicians Sea Deep has had the opportunity to perform live at local bars and coffee shops in the GTA. On December 1st 2010 they released their self-produced, 8 song demo titled Hurry Us & Get Gone. In the New Year hopes are to gain recognition in Toronto and set out on a Canadian tour in the near future.
