Lyrically wonderful. Musically warm and soft—yet weathered and durable. A strong, substantive effort in the acoustic-singer-songwriter tradition. Sean Miller’s debut solo album, Everywhere I Roam, is a lovely amalgamation of relatable writing, skilled and ambient execution, and professional-grade production.
There’s something completely and totally innocent about Miller’s style. Without pretension or melodrama, the album weaves its way around stories of regret and hope, fear and courage, and love in its many forms—particularly for home. As I journeyed my way across the album, I was continually surprised by the writing and the crescendo of emotion that seems to encapsulate the entire project. As evidenced by these seven songs, it’s clear that Sean is focused and disciplined in his work. Everywhere I Roam is a talented musician pouring his heart out over warm Americana, ballad-laden country, and soulful vocals. It may be steeped in clichés at times, but this brings out sincerity and down to earth honesty of an artist that is brave enough to put his innermost thoughts and feelings to music and share them with the world. Bio
Northern Michigan singer-songwriter Sean Miller offers audiences a mix of rock, folk and country with his smooth vocals and a dash of 90s grunge.
Following the release of his debut album “Everywhere I Roam” in 2020. The album was deemed “…one begged to be performed live” by Local Spins and a “latest and greatest spin” by the Northern Express. Other publications praised both its live sound feel and lyricism reflecting on Miller’s life and personal stories.
2020 also gave Sean time to dive deeper into his songwriting and write enough songs to start working on his second album. A few of those songs, including his song “Dime a Dozen,” have garnered Sean some national attention.
New Years Eve 2020 really set the course for Sean and the new year when Michael Palmisano (Guitargate) did a video reaction of his “Dime a Dozen” video. Palmisano complemented both his advanced guitar playing as well as his lyrical prowess stating “…basically he’s a badass mother f****r.”
Since then, “Dime a Dozen” has received streams from across the world and earned Sean a slot as a finalist in the Rocky Mountain Songwriting Competition.
Within the last two years, Sean has performed at festivals and venues including Blissfest, Earthworks Harvest Gathering, Great Indoor Folk Fest, FarmFest, the Two Way Street Coffee House, Cargo Coffee East and more. He has also recorded a song with Katie Larson of The Accidentals and open for Michigan acts including A Brighter Bloom, Brotha James, and Seth Bernard.
