Bio
Sean Conant was born in Vermont and began writing songs at age 17, when he wrote Clanmacnoise for his dying grandfather. At age 18, with only a backpack over his shoulder, he left for Ireland on a one-way ticket. The resulting experiences over the next several months gave him much to write about upon his return. This is evident in the song "Play The Game Right", mentioning the "paper boy" that collected two weeks worth of soaking newspapers from the front of the bed & breakfast he was staying at. It's a simple account like this combined with a gift for melody that makes Sean Conant's songs immediately likeable and, more important to him, memorable. Another keystone to these songs are the soaring harmonies, a nostalgic quality he credits to "a love of 60's and 70's music." Conant also knows the importance of balancing tempos, evident as he shifts from the gospel-tinged piano ballad "When Heaven Comes" to rocker "Play The Game Right" to the softly-spoken "It'll Go Alright."
Sean Conant has written and recorded more than 150 demos. In the future he hopes to speak with interested labels about recording an album. His goal is to continue making music for himself and hopefully, someday, for a larger audience!
