Smokestack Lightning is a young blues/rock band that concentrates on bringing a powerful blues display to the stage. With a mixture of cover blues songs from legends that range from Muddy Waters to Buddy Guy and the artists that were influenced by them such as Jimi Hendrix. Bringing a handful of originals with all those influences working together to make the Smokestack Lightning sound.
A band founded in 2004 by Landon Roberts and Andre Ferraton as a outlet to play "Chicago" style blues. Two years, one singer and 4 bass players later. They now have a wide repetoire of songs to choose from the blues, including original material that will be included on a future CD.
Working on a album for portions of 2005-2006, amongst playing shows in the Ottawa region during the same time period. The band looks to make 2007 the year to hit stride in. With a debut CD close to fruition, and a open schedule, this year promises to bring Smokestack Lightning back.
