Bio

TaterTrax Productions founder Sean Hartman has been in and out of the metal/rock scene in California for 14 years. Growing up in a small conservative town in northern California was the perfect inspiration for an aspiring musician and songwriter.

Sean was born on May 2, 1985 in Fortuna, CA. A small farming town in Humboldt County, which is about 100 miles south of the Oregon border on the Northern California Redwood Coast. Sean was only into sports for the majority of his childhood playing everything from soccer and football to baseball and basketball. It wasn't until freshman year of high school that he was inspired to buy a guitar and learn on his own. The band that inspired him to play was Creed. Throughout high school, Sean formed a few rock bands that only played small school shows and performed original songs and covers inspired by Creed, Nickelback, Incubus, Trapt, and Breaking Benjamin.

Once out of high school, Sean was introduced to metal and quickly got into bands like In Flames, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, and others. He was then determined to create a new sound and be in a successful touring band. This is when both Crossover and Chaos Theory were formed. Crossover was the female fronted alternative rock band that had sounds of Paramore and Flyleaf before they were household names and Chaos Theory was an angry de-tuned metal band that took inspiration from Slipknot, The Agony Scene, and Meshuggah. Both were short lived but successful in creating a fan base all over northern California.

In 2007, Sean decided that Humboldt County was not the right place to start a music career, so he moved to San Francisco and quickly formed the female fronted metalcore band Abriel. The band quickly gained success at the peak of metalcore's popularity and were one of the few metal bands in California with a female lead vocalist. Abriel went on two headlining tours, Warped Tour, and performed with some of the biggest names in their genre including The Devil Wears Prada, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Asking Alexandria, and many more.

Currently Sean is writing and producing in Huntington Beach, CA as a freelance producer. Focusing more on creating pop, country, and rock songs for artists that need songs.
