Lyrics

The Land Of My Youth

Written By: Sean McBride

Scarlett sun is setting and coloring the skies
above this foreign country as teardrops cloud my eyes.
The pain is getting stronger now, almost too much to bear,
last night I dreamt of Scotland and I wish that I was there.

And I want to go back
to my family and friends now
to a life that begins
where my traveling ends.
To the hills and the glens
far across the sea
for the land of my youth
is calling me.

Germany and Holland, Norway, Cyprus, France,
Just some of the countries that I've lived in at a glance
well, for sure, the Alps and Fjords are mysterious and rare
but still I dream of Scotland and I wish that I was there.

And I want to go back
to my family and friends now.
To a life that begins
where my traveling ends.
To the hills and the glens
far across the sea.
For the land of my youth
is calling me.

The land of my youth
is calling me.

(Instrumental)

And I want to go back
to my family and friends now
to a life that begins
where my traveling ends.
To the hills and the glens
far across the sea.
For the land of my youth
is calling me.

Scotland's where my memories are of early on in life.
Scotland, where I fell in love and where I found my wife.
Oh and every night when I'm away
I offer up a prayer,
tonight I'll dream of Scotland and tomorrow I'll be there.

And I want to go back
to my family and friends now
to a life that begins
where my traveling ends.
To the hills and the glens
far across the sea.
For the land of my youth
is calling me.

To the hills and the glens
far across the sea.
For the land of my youth
is calling me.
