It's Okay to Believe

Written By: Sean Michael Arnold

When I was a little boy I used to watch the sky
And wonder if the shooting stars were God passing by.
I wondered if what parents said was always really true
And is there someone out there who was really made for you.

I dreamed I would be President or someone on t.v.
And when I was a movie star I’d thank the academy .
I’d meet the greatest women, and we’d have the greatest kids.
But I’d never be too busy that I forgot how to live

It’s okay to believe in things like hope and peace
Even if it seems like they exist only in dreams.
It’s okay to believe in a power up above,
And that His greatest gift to us is our ability to love.

I’d win the Nobel Peace Prize, find a cure for cancer too,
And hit the winning home run when the count was three and two.
I’d travel all around the world, eat only Lucky Charms,
But the only place called home would be right in your arms.

It’s okay to believe in things like hope and peace
Even if it seems like they exist only in dreams.
It’s okay to believe in a power up above,
And that His greatest gift to us is our ability to love.

It’s okay to believe in things like hope and peace
Even if it seems like they exist only in dreams.
It’s okay to believe in a power up above,
And that His greatest gift to us is our ability to love.
our ability to love…
our ability to love…
our ability to love…

American Jesus

Written By: Sean Michael Arnold

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
O say can you see

God bless America, land of the free, home of denial-
Where I’ve seen Jesus taught to kids by pedophiles.
People pray for parking spaces and before a football game
In hopes to crack some skulls all in Jesus’ name.

I’ve seen clinics bombed and black men hung on trees.
And here I thought he died so that we could be free.
Just show up on Sundays and praise the red, white, and blue,
And you will love your neighbor, as long as your neighbor’s just like you.

Jesus is not an American citizen-
Raised on Nascar and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Jesus did not vote Democrat or Republican-
He just came to die for our sins.

So open your hymnal and praise the lord with your voice.
Death penalty for criminals and hate all who are pro-choice.
Put a fish on your car and your feelings on your sleeve,
And if I disagree with you, well, it seems I have to leave

See you can believe anything, just don’t believe too much.
Some sins are okay here, and some you just can’t touch.
Smoke and drink-that’s cool, beat up on your wife-that’s okay,
And you can sleep around, just love the war and don’t be gay-and look away

Jesus is not an American citizen-
Raised on Nascar and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Jesus did not vote Democrat or Republican-
He just came to die for our sins.

I love America and the freedom for which it stands.
And my God loves freedom too-we’re even free to wake away from him.
My holy God that judges and forgives, loves prostitutes sinners and thieves,
But he’s not fond of the pseudo-religious with the yeast of the Pharisees.

Jesus is not an American citizen-
Raised on Nascar and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Jesus did not vote Democrat or Republican-
He just came to die for our sins.

Jesus is not an American citizen-
Raised on Nascar and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Jesus did not vote Democrat or Republican-
He just came to die for our sins-
for our sins-
for our sins.

My Friend, Darkness

Written By: Sean Michael Arnold

My friend, darkness, welcomes me home,
For surely in darkness I was born.
You comfort me, you ease my find,
Because sometimes it’s just easier being blind.

Dearest darkness you hold me near-
Shadow my anger and conceal my tears.
I’ll hide my scars. I think that makes me deep,
So tell me why I feel just like a creep.

Darkness you’re no friend to me,
Though before you covered me.
But in your world I cannot see.
Oh darkness, you’re dead to me.

Tell me darkness, where have you gone?
Once exposed, you had to run.
To tell the truth-I don’t mind it,
Because only apart from you does love exist

Darkness you’re no friend to me,
Though before you covered me.
But in your world I cannot see.
Oh darkness, you’re dead to me.

Darkness you’re no friend to me,
Though before I was covered.
But in your world I cannot see.
Oh darkness, you’ve been discovered.

Darkness, you’ve come back to me,
Though I thought that I was free.
You’ve been waiting for this opportunity
To drag me back into the deep
Abyss. I need someone to help me now
So desperately-please save me.

Darkness you’re no friend to me,
Though before you covered me.
But in your world I cannot see.
Oh darkness, you’re dead to me.

Darkness-your relentless attack
Darkness-come on, get off my back
Darkness-tell me why are you here
Darkness-my comfortable fear
Darkness-it’s the end of the fight, because
Darkness-I’ve found the light.
