Bio

Sean was born and raised half his life in Detroit, MI. He moved with his family to South Florida during his high school years.

"That's where I picked up the guitar, because I had a hard time making friends. I thought I could get more friends by playing the guitar", laughs Currier. "That whole time, I was just looking for acceptance and self-worth."

A few years later, he found himself playing The Button South and Boston's on the Beach in Ft. Lauderdale. After graduating with an Associates' degree in Guitar Performance, he attended college at David Letterman's Alma Matter, Ball State and Anderson University where he got his degree in music business.

It was there that Sean got his experience as a studio guitarist at Gaither Studios and joined them on the 1998 Homecoming tour.

Today, Sean manages a summer worship tour of teenagers called "Different Kind of Ordinary" and is the worship leader at First Church of God in Lenoir City, TN.

In addition to all that, the Sean Michael Currier Band keeps busy with dates across the Southeast and Midwest including clubs, coffee houses, youth conventions, and camps.

He has shared the stage with Big Daddy Weave, The Elms, Toby Mac, John Ruben, Out of Eden, Steve Fitzhugh, The Gaither Vocal Band, Sandi Patti, and sax man Scott Olsen.

He has also worked in conjuction with Young Life, Ground Zero, Worship Together.com, and Deeper Level Mentoring.

An evening with the SMC band is more than just a concert or worship event, it is an EXPERIENCE of who God really is and how religion and rules misrepresent Him.
