"Sean Patrick Taylor invites pals to join him at Dinosaur BBQ"

Sean Patrick Taylor sent me a reminder that he's playing a solo acoustic show tonight at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse.
Well, not quite solo.
"I'm having a few guests come along," Taylor writes. "Mikey Powell and John Hanus from Villains Trust will be joining me for a set, as well as doing some songs on their own.
Mikey has some new songs and they'll also be playing some tunes from their recent release 'Strange Bedfellows.'

"While I'll be doing a bunch of covers, I'll also be playing some tracks from The Shakedown's forthcoming album 'Wild & Free.' That recording has been started at More Sound in Syracuse and will be finished at Sun Studios in Memphis, Tenn., later this winter," he says. "The full band will be playing again at Dino on Jan. 24. Both shows start at 9 p.m." - Mark Bialczak

Bio

Currently a member of The Shakedown, one of the most promising up and coming acts on the scene, Sean Patrick Taylor (SPT) is looking to assemble an active schedule of appearances and performances to share the music of "Wild & Free."

The last year saw him take the stage in Manhattan and walk the footsteps of history in Memphis, completing a full length LP in the process. "Standing in Sun Studio, with my beloved bandmates by my side, singing our songs in that room was one of the happiest moments of my life. It brought me back to the joy of discovering music."

Perhaps even more than the experience at Sun, the enduring legacy of the Memphis experience is the relationship established with Doug Easley and the album that came from it. "Wild & Free" had been in development for years, but in July of 2010 the band recorded the bulk of the 14 songs under the guidance of Easley & Sean Faust. Taylor & Faust had worked together previously on "This is Reality" by Cavern. When it came time to produce "Wild & Free," Faust was at the top of the list. The timing worked out with Easley and the team went to work.

Currently, Taylor is booking both solo shows and gigs with The Shakedown into 2012 in the U.S. & Canada.
