Having recently returned from the North America Country Music Association, Int’l music competition in Tennessee returning with 4 awards Sean took his first turn at the mic since our Grand Opening. As always his Soulful voice and presence in front of the mic captures the crowds making you forget he’s a only 18 with a style that simulates many seasoned artists. With a long list of awards, and personality that gets so many of those who listen to him hooked to compliment his skill set. Happy to join the Aviv Dancers for this fundraiser was Sean Sonego, a big believer in volunteering and charity work. In the young singer’s words, “I have a lot of fun helping out with different charity events in the community. There is never enough you can give back. I feel like I have been blessed in so many ways, and I should give back somehow.” Sonego brings both passion and sincerity to his music, and he has a natural way of connecting with his audience.
Sonego performed three numbers during the Ruach Aviv event, including “Shalom Aleinu”, “Lean on Me”, and an original composition titled “Set Yourself Free”. He looks forward to singing more in Edmonton and beyond. At only 18 years of age, he has already performed with well-known artists, competed in Nashville, and received recognition in Edmonton and beyond. BIOGRAPHY
Sean Sonego, one of Alberta's most dynamic, active young soul singer/songwriters, is currently the youngest musician to ever work at Edmonton's Finest Dueling Piano Bar, the Red Piano, on a regular basis. Sean opened the 2nd Annual Edmonton Rock Music Festival last summer where he played alongside Trooper, April Wine and Blue Oyster Cult, he's had the honour of singing back up for Johnny Reid at Rexall Place, and he's had the opportunity to share the stage with world renowned musicians including William Joseph, Nathan East, Dean Parks, John JR Robinson, and Matt De La Pola, all the while being backed by David Fosters orchestra. Sean has just completed his first full length album with LA Producer Bill Bell (Bill Bell - Guitarist and Musical Director for Jason Mraz, producer for Justin Nozuka, Tom Cochrane), and is very much looking forward to his Snapshot Western Canada Tour, which will be taking place in the summer of 2014.
