Bio

Sea of Ember is the Austin home-grown project that blends the soulful voice of Tawny Graf with the metal roots of Brian Kline. While their harmonies are sweet, they separate themselves from typical acoustic guitar acts with gritty riffs and unusual harmonies backed by earnestly delivered messages. Although they are currently an acoustic duo, they are working on their first self-produced full album, which will be released mid 2012. The genre that best describes the style of Brian's songwriting and production is Atmospheric World Rock.

Brian & Tawny started this project in 2010 with a promise to themselves that they would only play music they liked and believed in, choosing self-fulfillment over studio tricks and the path of the herd. Prior to this project Brian stayed busy arranging and recording his works, indie film scores, and the work of other artists, but always wanted a rock project to call home. Tawny has fronted bands of various music styles since the age of 16, and for the first time, she has found the right sound to support her voice.

Where most artists want to bring just the sexy and serious, this team brings the smiles and high energy to the mix. The love for what they are doing is obvious as they are always openly grateful for an audience. Tawny loves to give Brian trouble on stage as much as she does credit for his song writing. Don't be surprised if you hear a Comic or Sci-Fi reference out of either of them. They both have a vigilante gene.

The anthems of Sea of Ember will compel you to sing along with the catchy choruses. You are encouraged to look to the sky and shout the words. Feelings of lightness are usual after participation, whether you unleashed all of your energy in singing, fist raising, drinking or all three.
