Search Party is a three piece rock and pop band formed in Southeast Portland in 2007. Members John Craig (bass/vocals), Tommy Illk (guitar/vocals), and Brian Biggs (drums/vocals) hatched a plan for a new musical project that shed themselves of rock-band deadweights, such as breaking between songs onstage, unnecessary second verses, or anything that could remotely be considered "filler".
Humble beginnings for the band included such highlights as literally practicing in a small kitchen, accidentally booking with corny nu-metal and joke-rock bands, and stock of freebie spray painted demo CDs could never satisfy demand for recordings.
Gaining attention largely by word of mouth, Search Party has sold out gigs in their hometown in locations such as Lola's Room and Mission Theater. Also, despite the "appeal" of spray paint charm and CDRs, the band is currently focusing on using its momentum in completing and self-releasing their own brand new 6-song EP, entitled "Dispatch!!".
