"Seasons After"

Written by: Troy R. Wells
excert from full article

Finally, the band of the hour took to the stage. Seasons After is a hard working band that is definitely hustling constantly to get their name out and music in the ears of fans. Having beat out local KC bands for opening spots on the Warped and Taste Of Chaos tours, SA is not just another Wichita band with more aspirations than it has drive. If you are a fan of modern metal-core like Bullet For My Valentine and 18 Visions, then you will dig SA. Playing for nearly an hour; family, friends and fans alike, rocked out with the band. Whatever is in store for the band next, I doubt they will be just waiting around for something to happen.

"Seasons After? May 2007"

Seasons After seems to be on metal minds and media players all around the globe. After being on myspace for 2 weeks they already had fansites and debuted at #16 of the top 100 unsigned metal acts on myspace in the world.
Now they are at # 9 and they’re #6 on unsigned hardcore charts. That’s coming from a band that hasn’t even hit a stage! There are already rumors of label interest.
For those who are familiar with the Wichita band scene this group has a couple of members from a few recognizable local projects —the bassist from Zerofixx and singer of When It Rains and The Travesty.
After you add them on myspace, come on out to their FIRST SHOW, June 5th at Flashbacks. Sorry, it’s 18 to enter kiddies, but for adults they’ll be with Godhead, Ankla and American Headcharge.
Keep checking T95.com for the ucoming interview with Vinnie Paul and what he had to say about Seasons After.

"Vans Warp Tour"

Vans Warp Tour
Coming to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Bonner Springs on August 15, the four local bands selected to play live at this summer’s Warped Tour on the Ernie Ball Stage are: Seasons After of Wichita, KS; The American Life of Kansas City, MO; A Day Away of Springfield, MO; Red Line Chemistry of Kansas City, MO; and Sounding the Silence of Saginaw, MO.

“This is an amazing thing,” said Dawson, guitarist for Seasons After. “At this point in our career, we wouldn’t be able to play to this many people without the help of Ernie Ball.”

“Ernie Ball has been helping bands out for a long time,” said Josh Barber, vocalist for The American Life. “Not just with their stage at Warped, but also with the products they sell as well. We feel very humbled and honored to have been picked to represent the Kansas City music scene.”

“We’re really excited about playing the Ernie Ball Stage,” said Blake Duncan, guitarist for A Day Away. “The suspense was killing us, so we were thrilled to hear the verdict – we made it.”

“We’re not just excited to be playing,” said Tom Brown, bass guitar/backing vox for Red Line Chemistry. “We’re looking forward to checking out the other bands.”

Giving musicians the incredible opportunity to sound off to huge crowds, the stage has featured more then 5,000 unsigned bands, including then up-and-comers Bowling For Soup, Sugarcult, Story of the Year, New Found Glory, Avenged Sevenfold, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less Than Jake, and more. This year, winners will play alongside headlining bands Throwdown, My American Heart, We Are the Fury, It Dies Today, and more. For a complete list of all bands playing the Ernie Ball stage, go to www.battleofthebands.com.

The Vans Warped Tour starts on June 28 in San Diego, CA and will make 45 stops across North America this summer, ending August 25 in Los Angeles, CA. Bands entered the competition by uploading two songs, a bio, a picture, and a band website. Every band profile can be heard online at www.battleofthebands.com.

The 180 bands who make it to the Ernie Ball stage at the Vans Warped Tour also compete for the chance to be one of four showcase bands chosen to play live before industry and record label executives at a major Hollywood venue in the fall of ‘07. Throughout the Battle of the Bands competition, participants will be judged on performance by a group of Ernie Ball staff and sponsors as well as highly regarded musicians and entertainment industry professionals.

Bio

Seasons After is a five piece rock/metal band from the Air Capital of Wichita, KS that was formed in late 2006. Their sound, blending guitar and vocal harmonies, has been classified by some as nu metal with old school roots. Seasons After readily agrees with this, claiming influences such as Iron Maiden, Tesla, Faith No More, and Sevendust to Name a few.
In just two short years, Seasons After has been fortunate to perform on The Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest, The Vans Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos Tour, tour extensively through-out the Midwest region, and self release a full length album, “Through Tomorrow”, that has sold units worldwide! Now, with Seasons After signing to DBM Records which has re-release the album and brought the band to national recognition, their fan base continues to grow exponentially as they continue to tour throughout the Midwest region with full nationwide touring in 2009.
"Through Tomorrow" embarks audiences on a journey through life's toils and snares, at times lifting the listener up with lyrics like, "Stand for something now, don't fall for anything" and then sends listeners crashing back down to a somber reality like told in the lyrics of "The Worst Parts". In all, "Through Tomorrow" is a feast of crunchy guitar riffs and heavy bass and drum patterns blended with harmonic vocals. The result is a reflective of their combined influences.
Tracks from the album have been played on numerous internet radio stations, as well as Sirius satellite radio, and various college, independent, and commercial stations within the continental US. Please see www.seasonsafter.com for full list of stations and to request our music.

**Review of "Through Tomorrow" - Melodic.net - Troy Kramm 2/17/09

"There is absolutely no messing around on this album. Seasons After have given us something special here. The metal genre has been a little bland for me lately, but these guys are here to spice things up a bit.

Fans of Killswitch Engage, Bullet For My Valentine, Machine Head, etc…. will love these guys. Not only do you get some intense mind numbing screams from Seasons After, but lead singer, Chris Schlichting also provides plenty of clean crisp vocals that will appeal to the masses. Musically they pummel your senses with churning guitar riffs and blasting drums throughout. It is only a matter of time before these guys get signed. After listening to this CD, it was hard to believe that it was independently released.

There is no way to choose a handful of songs to call my favorite here, this is a CD that you are going to listen to in its entirety. With that being said, here are a few that you can start with. “Some Things Burn”, “11:11”, “Save You”, “Cry Little Sister”. Any one of these songs will show you exactly what to expect from these guys. This CD is mean, nasty and beautiful all at the same time. It cannot be overlooked and has to be added to your playlist. Go out, get it and love it."

*Feedback about Seasons After*
"Seasons After actually reminds me of bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot. These are bands that are clearly metal but have big hooks. I thought it was cool..."
