Bio

I’m Sebastian Garcia, audio engineer and guitar player originally from Uruguay. My songs blend styles such as Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Heavy Metal, Progressive Metal, Power Metal, Blues,... that’s the music I grew up with and motivated me to pick up a guitar in the first place. As a big fan of Satriani, Petrucci, Vai and others, I use a lot of distortion and effects on my songs, what can I say ... I can’t help it !!

During the year 2007 I wrote and recorded a demo/EP of 7 instrumental songs called Sky Blue. Those are the songs you can hear in this EPK. It was more of a personal project. Now I’m working on new songs, with a new sound, this time I’m going for something more elaborated, with different harmonies and scales. Focusing on my solo career as a musician/songwriter and guitar player. I’m expecting to have this new album ready sometime this year. Working in a recording studio as a full time engineer/producer is helping me a lot to work on my music and take my musicianship to another level.

I was born in August 21st 1980 in Montevideo, Uruguay. I grew up listening to Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin,... my father has a huge collection of vinyls and cassettes, he loves that music !!

I started learning guitar when I was at high school, classical guitar. My interest in electric guitar came a few months later when one of my friends showed me the Time Machine album from Joe Satriani, that album, especially the live disc, blew my mind. It’s been more than 10 years since then. Joe is still my favorite. Now I live in New Jersey, been here for a while already, played in a couple of bands. But it’s time to get serious.

I invite you to enter my world and listen to my songs. You will immediately notice how I’m influenced by the sweet and full-of-life Satriani’s playing style, by the amazing technique and control of Petrucci, and from all the legends of the 70s and 80s, and all that blends into a modern sound, very familiar but very unique. I think it's something quite interesting ...
