Bio

From the streets of Delmas 3 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Seça Konsa is a bold, unique, lyrical voice that uses Hip-Hip to communicate the struggle of urban life coupled with his own life experiences and those that must live in it. Seça Konsa translated from Creole to English means "that it, like that," and that is the motto he lives by and brings to his music. Hip-Hop found Seça Konsa in the basement of Head 2 Toe Barbershop in Shady-Ville, Queens Village where he and his boys decided to form a group called Operation Survival Souls Combined (OSSC). It is there they would pen down lyrics, transfer them to tracks and take them to the streets. The streets turned into clubs and that served as the groups stomping ground, that would later enable them to perform at a number of notable venues such as Joe's Pub, SOB's and colleges throughout the Tri-State area. Having the advantage of being bi-lingual and coming from a creative and talented family, Seça Konsa was asked by his brother, who at that time had a Konpa band by the name of Miele to drop a few bars in Creole. The track was called Pito'm Pa Pale and was successfully received by the Haitian Music Industry. It is at this time that Seça Konsa passion for rapping in Creole developed. Seça Konsa continued to write in Creole while OSSC continued to push their music; however, the group fell apart amicably and went their separate ways, but still continued to support each other's projects. It is then that Seça Konsa launched his solo career as the, "Illest Haitian Rapper." His debut mixed CD, entitled, "MELODI LA RI" (Melodies from the Streets) feat Les Enrages has been dubbed by fans, peers, colleagues and non-Haitians a pure classic, especially with his signature track entitled "pa jijem konsa". Other tracks to have created a buzz are the track entitled, Se Mwen Se Ou. Unbeknownst to him, Seca Konsas sophomore project would place him as one of the second generation pioneers of the movement called "Creole Hip-Hop." He is respected by his colleagues and fans as being one of the best lyrical rappers in the Creole Hip-Hop game. His mission is to use the Creole Hip-Hop movement as a way to communicate a message that could possibly help change the lives while dismantling preconceived stereotypes surrounding the Creole Hip-Hop language. So, with that being said welcome to the world of Seça Konsa and you always know when he is around, as you will always here his famous line .
