In 2002, Secnd Best was conceived by Dodak and Ward from the classical confines of the band room at their high school in Gresham, OR. Ikola soon began gracing the pubescent cacophony, deciphering how to sing and play simultaneously in the months to come. One year later, after a few failed attempts with other bass players, Krieger joined the proverbial ranks, completing the besotted, garrulous line-up. Experimenting with and building onto the styles of such luminaries as Bad Religion and NOFX, they eventually developed the immature, itinerant set lists of their youth into the immediately recognizable, refined sound you hear today.
Lyrical passages span appeals for revolution and scathingly sarcastic diatribes -- pleas for peace and social responsibility amongst personal reflections of theological and illogical (albeit chemically-induced) proportions. The layman and savant alike, shall conclude that Secnd Best is.
