Second Lucy is a rock band based in New York City. Their sound is hard driving melodic rock that has pop sensibility; it is fresh, unpredictable, and littered with elements from many musical genres. The songs are memorable and emotionally rich.
Guitarist and vocalist Dana Hood fronts the band. His guitar prowess, penchant for melodic hooks, and soaring tenor voice defines much of the group's distinctive sound. Guitarist Rahul Nair adds color and melody through riffs sung on strings. Drummer Todd Rengel and bassist Maury Spadoto anchor the bottom-end to provide a tight, infectious groove.
Second Lucy is currently working with producer Larry Baeder and engineer Todd Hemleb at Pyramid studio in Manhattan on their first full length album, which is scheduled for release in late Spring 2006.
The group is active in the NY music scene and has played such notable clubs as Arlene's Grocery, CBGB's, Siné, R&R/Rare, Crash Mansion, Luna Lounge (RIP), The Continental, and let's not forget about the Pussy Cat Lounge.
