Bio

Rob Stern and Joe Benny met up at Audio Engineering School and came from two different backgrounds: EDM/HipHop vs live bands and hip hop. The Secret Panda Society was born out of a combined interest in the new bass music that was infecting the EDM scene. Breaking onto the scene with 2 EP's on Heavy Artillery Recordings, the Panda Tunes successfully charted on Beatport's dubstep and drum and bass charts. Whichever genre they are working with, their signature sound combines well crafted vocals, thick beautiful chords, and massive bass that leaves a lasting impression.

Stepping outside the darker side of bass music, Gabriel and Dresden teamed up with Secret Panda Society to create the song "No Reservations". This massive proglectro tune sat comfortably in Beatport top 20 and has been supported by Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery, and countless blogs. Look for future involvement between these two duo's because once just isn't enough.

The first major label remix that happened for Secret Panda Society was Kelly Rowland - Keep It Between Us (Secret Panda Society Remix). With a beautiful pairing of pop elements and proper dubstep heaviness, the remix wound up on Reckless Wobbles mix tape alongside Skrillex, Nero, Doctor P, Crizzly, Figure, Benzi, Killagrahm, Terravita, Derek Allen, and Caligula.

For their live shows they are showcasing controller based skills for a souped up version of the classic dj showcase. Additionally, they bring out the live drum element at larger festivals which combines Joe Benny's mesmerizing drum talent with the already fantastic electronic portion of their show. The first showcase of this drum showcase was on a drum cover of Xilent - Choose Me II and after being reposted by Xilent himself, the world caught a glimpse of what is possible. Following that, Secret Panda Society performed the full drum show at Heat Festival in Riverside, CA alongside Major Laser, Fei Fei, and Mac Miller, and Karmin to name a few. After finishing up the month of March at SXSW at the Academik Records Show at Lanai and WMC with Heavy Artillery at Nowhere Lounge, be sure to catch these guys on the festival circuit to see what can happen when a drum set, crazy panda's and top notch music are combined for a cocktail whose cousin is maltov.
