Bio

Se’Deuce was born in 1999, when members Shant Sarkissian and Paul Gonzalez met in a development harmony group that split up soon thereafter. The two branched off, dabbling in writing and recording material together. Extremely happy with what they heard, they decided the best plan would be to stick together and chase their dreams as a duo.

After recording a few demo CDs, they were taken under an impressed producer's wings for further development. Soon after, a management contract was offered and their shared adventure took off. Shant and Paul attended the Ciccone Academy of Voice to master their craft and soon were ready to perform in front of any audience that would lend them an ear. It was around this time that they entered a worldwide songwriting contest and won 2nd place in the Hip Hop/R&B category.

Things started moving at breakneck speed, with showcases following at venues like Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Hilton Hotel and several clubs around town. A buzz was emerging, and people across town were asking themselves the same thing: Just who were these 2 guys who grew up in Sydney but sounded like overseas superstars?

Having the freedom to experiment and write and sing from the heart, they emerged with fresh material that once again turned heads at the Australian Songwriting Association Song contest, where they entered and won an amazing 3 awards. Recording contracts were offered but Se’Deuce didn't sign, waiting patiently instead for the right one to come along. "We don't want to get burned," says Shant.

It wasn't long before phone calls started pouring in from managers, producers and just about everyone in between. Good relations with producers got them back in the studio for another round of recording, and Paul began co-producing and providing backing vocals on a big budget album based in the UK. Meantime, Shant got busy in front of the camera, appearing in TV soaps, commercials and the like.

In that same year, Se'Deuce was invited to perform at Australia’s first R&B music festival, SummerJamm in Brisbane. They were the only unsigned pop act to hit the stage, next to names like Kaylan (now known as Disco Montego), Anuj, Joanne and Hailey Aitken. But the enthusiastic feedback they received didn't stop them from continuing to polish their songs. Most recently Se'Deuce were invited to share the stage and Perform with US Artist Mario Winans & Australia's Own Jade Macrae & Idol's Barry Southgate and finally, after years of making music primarily for themselves, "Paradise" will be the all-important, long-awaited first release from this young duo that grew up on opposite ends of the city, but wrote music that sounds like the Streets of LA. Be on the lookout for the single coming your way very soon.
