The best kept secret in music

"Cantor Patty Kaplan"

Dear Mattan,

Our congregation is still on a high from your Shabbat presentation. Thank
you so very much for a wonderful, wonderful evening. It was a bonding
experience for our congregation and for our relationship with
Israel. We've been reviewing the entire event as a tremendous success!

Thanks again, so very much, for sharing your amazing talents with us!

"President Rosanne Selfon"

Hello WRJ friends,

Last evening, we Lancastrians (PA) experienced a fabulous evening of Jewish music. I highly recommend this musically talented group Seeds of Sun. ( The five members of the ensemble are each tremendous musical talents. They bring together a jazz flair of Hebrew and English music that had
almost 200 listeners in our sanctuary on their feet.

Mattan Klein, the group's leader, is a product of the Reform movement. His father was a professor at HUC-JIR in Israel where Mattan lived as a child. All the members of the group call Tel Aviv home but are currently in NYC. As an aside, Mattan could be an elegant flute soloist on his own.

"Cantor Judy Seplowin"

Dear Mattan –

There was such a ruach in our Social Hall yesterday, I felt something very special – the kids stayed and heard your beautiful music, even if only thru osmosis! It was a cultural experience for them – a couple kids said they had never heard jazz before! You and your band delivered a diverse, fabulous and moving program – I enjoyed watching, Lilach is stunning both on the outside and the inside – I saw her take the time to speak with some of our great kids and their parents – and I told her she gave a few older men in the audience heart attacks! ;) Shake ‘em up a little bit! People were so THRILLED with your performance. I wish you and the band and ALL your bands great success in the future. I know a lot of people will be anxious to purchase your CD.

Feeling a bit camera shy

Seeds of Sun blends a multitude of cultures in the creation of its unique mix of Israeli Jazz. South America meets the Middle East, odd meters from the Balkans cross over Jazz and be bop, Brazil criss crosses Eastern European Klezmer and all styles merge to become a beautiful fast New York mix of colors and textures.
