See You Later See You There is a musical outfit started by a North Carolina kid who moved to Austin and some friends who were tragically tricked into playing with him. Some bands have amazing lyrics but nothing going on musically - they sound like mouthpieces for a boring singer/songwriter. Some bands have amazing music and musicians but nothing to say. See You Later See You There blends both, with success. Their literate music covers complex pertinent issues such as sex, gender roles, space travel, and what it would be like if sexy people played with gender roles while flying in rocketships. Their spiritual influences range from Leonard Cohen to David Bowie to Rufus Wainwright to Iron & Wine. We say spiritual influences, because even though members of the band swear that those listed names are the influences, they don't really sound like any of them. But See You Later See You There is pretty freaking fantastic, so who really cares?
