Rock Band, Sekshun 8 signs recording deal with Sunset Records today, sets up live show at Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park on July 11th and gets ready to release the Black Winged Butterfly CD on July 7th.

According to The Billboard Media Wire, Sekshun 8 has signed a multi album recording deal with Don Lichterman’s Sunset Records. The record label for Gina Thompson, Federal Moguls, I Kong and, more recently, Richtaste, Down From Zero and the Original Black Pantah, Lichterman quickly signed Sekshun 8 after hearing tracks from soon to be worldwide release of the Black Winged Butterfly CD. Sekshun 8 has set a July 7th release date for the new album, "Black Winged Butterfly". The album's first single, "Black Win Butterfly", will be released to radio on Monday, June 1 and the single is featured beginning June 1st on the CMJ New Music Report CD sampler.

“Sekshun 8 is a rockin band and we are setting up a very special record release party for everyone at the Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park in New Jersey,” says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records. The band will play two (2) shows on July 11th showcasing the entire CD being released by Sunset. The world famous amusement Park is located in Jackson, New Jersey and is opened to the general public all day. “You could not ask for a better start to a campaign considering that we are already being featured on the CMJ CD in June and then the band is playing to thousands of people in July all before the record hits stores this summer,” says Lichterman about the Sekshun 8 CD being released worldwide on July 7th..

Don Lichterman also said about the signing and about the new follow-up CD to the Sekshun 8 debut, Toymaker, "This is a serious hard rock band with a great CD of music. There is no gimmick here because we will work this right at the 950 or so hard rock radio stations we service in that format. The entire CD rocks hard and the production is perfect. Stevie Lange put together a perfectly sounding CD and the production is at the highest level. After hearing a few songs last month, I knew this was the type of band we want to develop for many years at Sunset. The debut album was very well received by rock fans. This new CD will gain the band a new audience and we plan making sure the band has the ability to play a lot of live shows this year. That should get the band up to a higher level this year.

"This album will turn heads," Lichterman continued to say and the band continues to play some great shows live with top rock acts like Y&T (Geffen) this month. “This is a great addition to the Sunset Record Label.”

Other songs that are on the upcoming Black Winged Butterfly CD release include fan favorites "Still Smokin", "Three Blocks" and "Watch The Burn".
