AFTER SUCCESSFULLY DROPPING, “SOUND THE ALARM,”
HIP-HOP ARTIST, FRESH, IS READY TO LAUNCH
UPCOMING PROJECT, IGNORANT GENIUS

Project demonstrates artist’s growth as an emerging hip-hop star.

NOV. 7, 2012 – HARTFORD, CT – As momentum continues to build following the successful release last month of his single, “Sound the Alarm,” ft. Aja Edwards, Chris “FRESH” Brodie is hard at work in the studio finishing his upcoming project, Ignorant Genius, which is scheduled for release Dec. 1, 2012.

With its life-affirming messages of triumph over tragedy, the project will feature approximately eight to 12 tracks in collaboration with a variety of artists, including artist/radio personality Fatman Scoop and Jamaican-born reggae hip-hop artist, Scrapp Nyce, who is featured on the track, “Dreaming.” Producers on Ignorant Genius include Corey Thompson; Linz Prag; J. Oliver and GQ of Misfitz Soundz; Dirty Joker of Mad Out Music; and Kid Marv of Park City Boyz. Representing a departure from FRESH’S previous work, this project will include several different genres of music showcasing his wide-ranging hip-hop/rap skills and talent.

“Considering all of the things happening in my life and career lately - both the good and the struggles - this project has taken on a life of its own, especially as I’ve met new artists and producers to work with who’ve helped me dig deeper to develop my craft and the art of story telling,” said FRESH. “I’m excited and ready to finally launch Ignorant Genius and see where it goes, given the variety of music we have created and the messages the songs deliver. I hope people will relate to how real it is.”

FRESH, who has released a series of mixtapes over the past two years on various projects, has quickly risen to the attention of hip-hop trend setters and taste-makers, and is poised to become the next hottest hip-hop artist. With his inspirational messages steeped in faith, FRESH uses his music as a way to work through personal struggles and give hope to others who may be experiencing the same.

FRESH/Bio
When not out touring with King Los or Cory Gunz, or performing on the mainstage at landmark establishments such as Toad's Place or Webster Hall, NYC rapper FRESH (@selfmadefresh) can usually be found cocooned in a studio, grinding hard doing what he loves most: recording tracks.

For the past three years, FRESH has been doing just that - creating a lot of great hip-hop joints, much to the delight of his fans and industry insiders, who've made note of this dynamic newcomer.

From executives at VH1, who recently chose one of FRESH's songs for the premiere of their newest series, The Gossip Game, to local promoters who regularly try to book him, FRESH has burst onto the scene in a big way this past year.

Having released four mixtapes to date, his most recent being ATLAS (All The Love And Support, 7/15), which is a tribute to his loyal, steadfast fans, FRESH's most ambitious project to date, Popular Stranger, is almost completed and due out this Fall. Featuring some of today's hottest artists and top producers, such as John Sparkz, the highly anticipated project is likely to surprise industry taste makers for the strength its overall positive message, including conscious rap tracks and a bold new sound.

Aside from making music and touring this past year, FRESH has also made appearances at A3C and SxSW, was invited to perform at clubs in NYC, Philly, and Boston, and was included in this summer's Hot 93.7FM Hot Jam cypher.

While the first half of 2013 has proven to be a break-out year for FRESH, the second half remains to be seen with expectations of even bigger and better things to come!
