Bio

Over 6 years on the road and 2 self produced albums, Semtazone has played more than 450 times, be it in Europe or Morocco. Therefore they have been able to present their music to different kinds of audiences, in cafés and big festivals, thus meeting a majority of the bands that compose the French musical scene.

Through many concerts and meetings, Semtazone’s music has evolved a great deal, it has also gained in maturity, reaching a style that can’t be limited to French chanson or rock, but on the contrary, that extends to all the styles that influence the musicians of the band. Thus the musical colour obtained is purely authentic and can’t be found elsewhere.

60 000 kilometres, 120 concerts, 18 months on tour, 10 concerts recorded, a 10 day mixing session, hours and hours of listening, 12 songs selected, for two words, last but not least : Trafic Intense (Intense Traffic)

Mixed by La Fraise (sound engineer of French bands Les Tambours du Bronx, Prohom, Doppler), mastered by Choko (Le Peuple de l’Herbe, Les Ogres de Barback) Trafic Intense shows the evolution operated by Semtazone since the release in may 2005 of « Comme s’il en Pleuvait », their second self produced album.

The screaming electric guitars know how to calm down and accompany Sara‘s sweet voice. But on the contrary, the cello, saxophones and flutes are able to prove that their presence in a rock band is more than legitimate. Semtazone makes it possible for French chanson and rock music to get together.

And this is precisely what one can hear on Trafic Intense, French chanson surrounded by rock, sweetness and violence, all the elements that make the style of Semtazone.
