Bio

Sendero was just an idea in the mind of lead singer and songwriter Miguel Angel Acevedo. For years he wrote on his own, with no one to help him express his gift. When he enrolled in Berklee College of Music in early 2004 he met the people that would help him shape what would be known as "Sendero".

First up is fellow Puerto Rican and lead guitarist Antonio "Tony" Solis. Immediately the two had a writing chemistry that could not be ignored. It was then that Miguel decided to take things into full stride. With Tony's diverse style of writing and effortless guitar work along with Miguels writing expertise, there was no one that would stop them from accomplishing their goals.

Teo Quirino was quick to join the band once he heard only a taste of the music they had to offer. Once he took the seat on the drums he offered a beat that only his talent can possibly produce for Sendero. Being influenced by some of the best latin drummers of all time, his style fit perfectly.

Jonathan Bastian was already aquainted with Miguel since they arrived at Berklee in 2004. Once he found out Miguel was getting things rolling, he knew he wanted to be a part of it. Once he strapped on the bass and played with the band, the other members were astonished at his virtuostic approach to the bass. Being influenced by the best jazz, funk, and fusion bass players of all time, Jonathan has the skill to be able to produce any type of sound or style he so wishes.

And with that Sendero was born. A mix of styles from all around the world. From Latin Rock, Alternative, Salsa, different latin rhythms, Blues, Funk, and even a taste of jazz make this band definately a breath of fresh air to listen to.

*Sendero also encorporates live congas played by master percussionist Tommy del Valle. With his knowledge of latin rhythms and styles, Tommy is able to give Sendero a real latin feel when its needed. With his cool and laid back style on stage, he can definately entertain.
Sendero also uses live horns on some shows, using some of the most talented horn players from Berklee and Boston to provide their expertise to the band.
