"Seneca Hawk"

LA-based trio Seneca Hawk crank out loud, rootsy Americana in the same stripped-down vein as the Black Keys, with guttural, heartfelt vocals courtesy of Jonah Rivera and Kyle Beswick. With just one record under their belt, they have been making their stompy, bluesy sound heard far and wide — local underground station KXLU has taken the relatively young band under its wing by sponsoring numerous shows and live radio performances. - Flavorpill

"Seneca Hawk"

Through the music they become more than musicians, they are more like artists, painters, and storytellers…exactly what LA dreams are made of - Latino L.A.

"Seneca Hawk"

Every single goddamned time I see Seneca Hawk play their unforgivably heart-wrenching rock 'n roll I am overcome with memories of the greats, judgments of their contemporary counterparts, and hugely optimistic for the future. - KXLU 88.9 FM

Bio

Seneca Hawk all met as students at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. The band quickly became a local favorite for Ivy-leaguers and townies alike. After all three finished their undergrad education (well, almost all three), the band moved out to Los Angeles.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Seneca Hawk has played LA's finest venues, including the Troubadour, Spaceland, and the Viper Room. The band has frequently been featured on LA's 88.9 KXLU. Also, the band undertook its first national tour including stops in Austin (Emo's), New York (The Cutting Room), Portland (Dante's), and Salt Lake City (Kilby Court).

After completing the tour, Seneca Hawk began recording "Sun Year Long" with producer Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo, Army Navy). After nine months of recording, the band has completed "Sun Year Long" and is scheduled to release the record in early 2010. The album's first single, "Steal Your Heart Away" will be released on November 3rd, 2009.

"Steal Your Heart Away" will be featured in the Apple Store's #1 iPhone game, Tap Tap Revenge 3.0
