SENIOR MOMENTS

SENIOR MOMENTS

BandRockPop

Old fashioned guitar driven rock; with vocals clear enough so the lyrics can be understood and enough variations in the guitar sound so that each track sounds different. Our song lyrics reflect Rock of the Aged, with attitude and humour.

Biography

Our influences range from Buddy Holly to Lou Reed.
What sets us apart is our age. Our story is in our music.

Guantanamo Bay

Written By: David Rosier

GUANTANAMO BAY

THERE IS A PLACE THAT YOU’RE SURE TO LOVE
IT WAS GIVEN TO THE U.S. BY GOD ABOVE
WHERE LIFE IS JUST A BIG HOLIDAY
I’M SURE YOU’VE HEARD OF GUANTANAMO BAY

CHORUS
GUANTANAMO BAY; YOU CAN STAY THERE FOR LIFE
GUANTANAMO BAY; YOU CAN FORGET YOUR WIFE
GUANTANAMO BAY; THERE’S ALWAYS SOME SUN
AND A FRIENDLY GUARD AT THE END OF A GUN

GUANTANAMO BAY; YOU’LL LOVE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS
GUANTANAMO BAY; DOGS WILL SHOW YOU THE SIGHTS
GUANTANAMO BAY; BREAD AND WATER’S A TREAT
AND AT THE END OF EACH DAY YOU’RE BOUND TO FEEL BEAT

WITH THEIR TEASING AND JOKES YOU’LL FIND EASY TO TAKE
THE FRIENDLY STAFF WILL KEEP YOU AWAKE
YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ‘BOUT LEGAL ADVICE
NO LAWYERS ALLOWED NOW ISN’T THAT NICE

REPEAT CHORUS

IF YOU NEED A VACATION WITH NO PLACE TO GO
AND YOU’RE TIRED OF THE ISLANDS AND MEXICO
AL-QUAIDA SENT ME IS ALL YOU NEED SAY
AND YOU’LL FIND YOURSELF AT GUANTANAMO BAY

REPEAT CHORUS

I Can't Be Gay Any More

Written By: David Rosier

I CAN’T BE GAY ANY MORE
‘Twas not too many years ago when a song smith penned a tune
He’d write a song of romance and moon would rhyme with June
Gay bachelors, gay lovers, gay old dogs were all the rage
But now the meaning’s changed so much we’ve turned a brand new page
Now I can’t be gay any more, I can be happy; I can be full of joy
I can be ecstatic, an excitable boy, but I can’t be gay any more
No, I can’t be gay any more
I used to visit gay Paree, oh what a crying shame
I have to go to Paris now somehow it’s not the same
Gay caballeros, cavaliers, gay ladies by the score
Have fallen by the wayside, they can’t be gay any more
Now I can’t be gay any more, I can be happy; I can be full of joy
I can be ecstatic, an excitable boy, but I can’t be gay any more
No, I can’t be gay any more
The Flintstones had a gay old time in Bedrock years ago
But poor old Fred can’t understand why now it isn’t so
We’ve only poems, songs and stories from an olden day
To remind us once there was a time when we could all be gay
Now I can’t be gay any more, I can be happy; I can be full of joy
I can be ecstatic, an excitable boy, but I can’t be gay any more
No, I can’t be gay any more

Senior Moments

SENIOR MOMENTS

I was busy fixing something last Saturday night
Knew I needed a thing-a-ma-jig to get the job done right
Went down to my workshop to find the proper tool
Stood there in the doorway feeling like a fool

I was having a senior moment, a senior moment
Standing there just staring at the floor
I was having a senior moment, a senior moment
I couldn’t remember what I’d gone there for

Drove down to the mall to do some shopping for my wife
Took a list of what she wanted so there’d be no strife
Checked off every item as I plucked it from the shelf
Sat down for a coffee I was real proud of myself

But then I had a senior moment, a senior moment
It happens doesn’t matter where you are
Then I had a senior moment, a senior moment
I couldn’t remember where I’d parked my car

So if you’ve reached a certain age and your mind just goes astray
Pencils, pens, remote controls disappear each day
You put down your glasses but you can’t remember where
Until you hear them breaking as you sit in your chair

It’s just a senior moment, a senior moment
My advice is; remember this each day!
When you’re having a senior moment, a senior moment

I can’t, I can’t remember what I was going to say next!(Spoken)

I must be having a senior moment, a senior moment

SAD SONGS

Written By: David Rosier

SAD SONGS

Sad songs give me the blues
Sad songs just like bad news
Taking me places I don’t want to go
Telling me things I don’t want to know
Sad songs give me the blues

Sad songs roll back the years
Sad songs bring back the tears
Mom and Dad fighting while I cried in bed
Bringing back memories of things they said
Sad songs roll back the years

Sad songs drive me to drink
Sad songs still make me think
About the woman I let down real bad
The truest love that I ever had
Sad songs drive me to drink

Sad songs they bring me down
Sad songs just make me frown
I want to hear songs that’ll get me high
Not songs and rhythms which make me sigh
Sad songs they bring me down
