Friday is for Facebook Friends!! Guess what guys? I am bringing you something new to our Fridays because Twitter shouldn't be the only media outlet with a whole day dedicated to them. The other day I received a FB message from Sensory Station, a local San Diego heavy rock band, to check them out and I was freakin blown away! So blown away that I felt a need to share their music with you all!! Check them out and Like their Facebook page to share the love. If you want to see them live go check them out on 8/27/13 at The Griffin for 91X LoudSpeaker Live! - San Diego Music TV
Sensory Station includes lead singer and guitarist Hunter Levy (Born Tonight, Suicide Chords) and bassist Athan Anas (Hectors Revenge), along with Nic Gentilella (drums, percussion) and Kyle Kuiper (keys, backing vocals). Catch their sonic blending of Deftones, Tool, Metallica, and Queens of the Stone Age on January 21 at the Tin Can. - San Diego Reader
One of the reasons why I started this blog was to show people that there is so much good music out there that is going unnoticed. And this category of band of the week does just that. This week I bring you Sensory Station from San Diego. This four piece has a really cool vibe that mixes ambience and hard rock in a Pink Floyd meets Tool sort of way with a dash of Explosions In The Sky. Their debut album, Open Your Eyes, was recorded and mixed by Aaron Harris (of Isis/Palms). From the videos they have posted online, their live show looks like it is chock full of energy and invigorating performances from each of the band members. Bio
Sensory Station is a rock band that conjures up a blend of older grunge-style music with a modern ambient flare. Pretty at times but with aggressive and explosive elements. With the production of their first effort "Open Your Eyes" produced by Aaron Harris behind them, the band is now working on their second release due out later in 2016.
