"Sentient Rocks"

With a handful of hit songs and an undeniable determination, Sentient looks to be a contender in what is now the L.A. Rock scene. Heavy riffs, hooks and intuitive lyrics drive this five man team to forge past any obstacle that arises and leave each listener with at least one song on loop in their minds. It's hard to say when and where, but this band is going to emerge. And when it does, I'll have the pleasure of saying, "I told you so."

Bio

Sentient was formed in 2006 for the sole purpose of writing and playing straight up hard rock in the most traditional sense. James Turner, formerly of the Lesser Kings, began the projekt of recording the songs for Sentient in early 2006. He soon called upon the talents of his long time friend Brian Berrie to lay down guitar riffs and solos within the work. Then in September of 2006, James began holding auditions for lead singer. After meeting with a number of singers, James was introduced to Tim McKay, formerly of the east coast rock band, Fan the Fire. For his audition, Tim was asked to sing a song James had written for the album. On the day of the audition, Tim walked in not only prepared, but with entirely new lyrics. He had completely re-written the song lyrics. James decided to record a scratch track to hear what Tim had come up with. From then on, Miss Divine had taken its place within the album, Opulant Hierarchy and Tim McKay was offered the title of lead singer of Sentient. With the album nearing completion, Sentient added second guitarist and brother of Brian, Dan Berrie. In the months following, Sentient added Seattle Rock drummer, Evan Hess to make the line-up complete. Sentient is currently playing around the Los Angeles area.
