Bio

She calls herself a singer of songs, an emissary of knowledge, a teller of stories and a communicator. SEONA is one of the most unusual and versatile performers to come out of Australia and New Zealand in many years. Her colorful background is a press agent’s dream. Even if she couldn’t sing a note, she could stand on stage and charm the audience by simply carrying on a conversation in her delightful accent -- and have them laughing at her wicked Irish sense of humor.

It was in Australia that she began her professional singing career, which brought her recognition and success that resulted in her receiving Australia’s OZ Music Award for best female folk singer in 1979 & 1980. Drawing from her own colorful background, as well as her extensive travels, it is evident that her repertoire of traditional and contempory songs from around the world is both broad and unique. Clearly, the enthusiasm derived from the many cultures she has encountered, inspire her audience, and contribute greatly to the demand for Seona’s educational programs (for all ages) in Australia, New Zealand and now in America.

She continues to enthrall audiences of all ages at outdoor festivals, theatre concerts, international events, school and community events throughout the United States. Seona’s impressive credits include touring with Don McLean, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and many other top recording artists. She has performed at the world famous “Wolf Trap” in Vienna, VA: played two years consecutively for “International Fanfare Week” in Nashville: appeared at the World’s fair in Knoxville, TN with top Australian stars for Australia Week: toured for three years with The Kennedy Center “Imagination Celebration” throughout America.
