In the early 1990's young Cubans, students from Universidad de Oriente decide, after studying thouroughly the old tradition to form modern son bands. Septeto Santiaguero, Septeto Turquino and Septeto Nabor are the most known of this new generation sonero's from Santiago de Cuba. Septeto Nabor was founded in 1993 and within a year they played at numorous festivals all over Cuba, in 1998 they made their first European tour. Since 2004 they are based in Rome, Italy and are touring all over Europe.
