• Larry Burrus - Lead Vocals/Lead Guitar/Harp/Piano
Larry is the musical director of Serious Jones and has national recognition in the league of “Texas Bluesman”. In the tradition of his predecessors SRV, Jimmy Vaughn, Freddie King, Albert Collins and T Bone Walker, Larry’s musicianship is second to none. Larry has mastered country/blues/rock songwriting styles while perfecting a searing electric guitar sound. Larry adds other instruments to the Jones’ sound including harp, banjo, mandolin, & keyboards.
• Ron Aveni - Drums/Percussion/Backing Vocals
Ron comes from a family of master musicians including his father Albert, who performed with music legends Al Hirt (Java), Tommy Newsom (Tonight Show bandleader), and Del Shannon (Runaway, Runaround Sue) to name a few. Ron’s diverse techniques and trained ear allow him to play multiple rhythms with heart, soul, intensity and a “sixth sense” for musical improvisation. Ron has taken his father’s incredible beats to the next level.
• Steve Ackeret - Bass Guitar/Backing Vocals
Steve’s bass playing has the sound of a “midnight steam-train chugging into town”. Steve’s insight and knowledge of music brings a rich and solid underpinning to the Serious Jones sound. Steve has an impeccable repartee with the Jones fans during their live events. Steve has long standing relationships with major music artists Wishbone Ash and Little Feat to name a few.
• Glenn Aveni - Rhythm & Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals
The newest addition to the Jones, Glenn has spent the last 25 years living and working in Los Angeles with some of music’s biggest legends including Pete Townshend, Stewart Copeland, Mick Fleetwood, Rick Derringer and hometown hero Les Paul. Glenn has a distinct guitar sound and also hails from the Aveni family of musicians. Glenn has an unwavering passion for music history, artistry of music, songwriting, and performing.

Keeping up with the Jones’

Serious Jones has been in demand over the past several years opening for such acts as Johnny Winter, George Thorogood, Boz Scaggs, Commander Cody, Eddie Money and Loverboy as well as consistently performing at clubs, festivals, and small theaters. The Jones’ are currently in the studio working on a new batch of songs to be released on Icon Records Label…so watch for their new CD in the fall of 2013 on iTunes, Amazon and at your local music retailers! Also look for Serious Jones music on television featured in the new reality series “Bid America” on Mav TV and PBS. Check your local listings.
