"GLORY BE CD Review"

"The debut CD by ServantSong is Glory Be, a strong effort for a first-time recording. ... Songwriter Dave Gawron has put together some solid songs, many of which seem like they would be very singable for group worship, especially the first two songs on the CD, Unchanging, and the title track, Glory Be ... heartfelt, sincere and passionate" - Grapevine Magazine

"From a fellow musician and teacher"

Based on over thirty years of experience in music, including studying music composition at the world reknowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, I would make these comments regarding the music of ServantSong: In my professional opinion, I like what I hear from this group. Their music is fundamentally sound in the areas of harmonic structure, melodic phrasing, and overall form. I base this conclusion upon analysis of the written music. From am aestheric, live performance experience, I find the group well-rehearsed, balanced, and energetic without being over-the-top. Finally, from a Christian perspective, there is no denying the prayerful content in their music. Their conviction of faith is very evident and genuine. For these reasons, I truly approve of ServantSong's message through music and greatly support their future endeavors. - Geoff Ross

"ServantSong Rocks the HOP"

We recently had the Servant Song Ministry at our church, also known as The Rhode Island House of Prayer. One weekend each month we have a 48-hour praise and worship time with some of the best christain artists from all over the country. When ServantSong's two hour slot began, it was evident that they were going to rock the house for the lord. Their music was vibrant and their teen dance squad showed their love for our lord in a very special way. Their music literally helped to unite both protestants and catholics in attendence to become what the lord wants of us -- to be joyful and all be one in the body of Christ. Praise the Lord!! - Al Tomassini, Lay Miister of Evangelism, The First United Methodist of Woonsocket, RI

"ServantSong is Recommended"

Over the years I have had the great opportunity to watch ServantSong grow in their ministry bringing Youth closer to God with music. I am truly grateful for their performances at our monthly prayer meetings (held on the last Tuesday of each month at All Saints Parish), our coffee houses, Praise/Worship Concerts and the "get ready for Steubenville East" activities. Not only do they play the rocking Steubenville music but they also perform several great songs written by Dave Gawron. ServantSong not only helps the youth grow in their faith but many adults have enjoyed their performances. I strongly suggest every Youth Minister consider booking ServantSong for their parish’s youth group to experience God in a different way. I thank God every day for introducing ServantSong to my ministry and I pray God continues to bless them with their great talents bringing all those who hear them closer to Him. Thank you again ServantSong for all you do for All Saints Parish!!! - Amy St. Lawrence, Sacred Heart Director of Youth Ministry, Woonsocket, RI

Bio

What do you get when you mix together a cup of Amy Grant, a tablespoon of the Bangles, a pinch of the Beatles, and a whole lot of love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? ServantSong, of course! ServantSong offers a brand of Contemporary Christian/Catholic, Pop/Rock, Praise & Worship music that takes you on an emotional journey ending in the joy and hope of eternal life with Jesus.

Band leader, Dave Gawron, handles songwriting, keyboards, rhythm guitar, and vocals for the band. To make a long story short, he was not religious at all his whole life. God "knocked him off his horse" in 1995, and he went to the Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he became a music minister. He ended up writing several songs, got a band together in 2003, and recorded the GLORY BE album in 2006. Now, about the music...

Dave says, “I fell in love with Christ in 1995. The purpose of my music is to help others love Him more. Music is a powerful, emotional tool, so I use 80's pop and 90’s rock styilings (as a teen in the 80's, those genres were big influences) to draw people to our Savior.” He likes getting people in a good mood, feeling good about their faith, and his music reflects that. Some of his songs grow out of prayers and bible verses, others come from the experience of his own personal faith journey.
