"Service Bells, Metropolis"

Service Bells strikes the ringers, formed from the dissolution of Cameras by Fraser Harvey with a little help from his friends Ben, Bill and Mike. Giving us one of the first listens to their new single "Metropolis", the group goes on the offensive against the box topped product machineries of the music industry as commodity with the brooding claustrophobic sound of seedy cityscapes.

Fraser turns the page of new beginnings in the opening of statement of, "this time we'll do it right". The guitars manoeuvre like dense and disgruntled city street driving commuters, as Service Bells act like indie rock city planners where chords are arranged like building zoning, with the concerns over the constituents involved in composition are acted out like urban construction. There is a meta element of looking at the road ahead while sorting out the past as a way to move forward into the cities and sounds of the future. "We had some records, and some numbers, so we should give it a try, I wouldn't take it, but I can leave it, how will this look in the light?" Discovery becomes the focal quest, where they slam down the industrious ennui of "sign under the line then we're out of here", and the talent and time consuming investments of dreams, "take all of your time". Listen and discover the signs, and discover the sights of new municipalities that shine through the gloom. - Impose Magazine

"Best New Songs"

Service Bells might just be the next huge Australian rock band. Featuring former members of Sydney indie rockers Cameras and Ernest Ellis, their sound shares the same gravitas and power of the likes of QOTSA and Interpol, but has a swagger and a groove that is all its own. Many Aussie rockers have tried to pull off the same sonic feat, and often come out sounding like posers. Service Bells sound like they could mix it with the big boys. 'Undertaker' is lifted from their forthcoming, self-titled EP, and features guest vocals from The Preatures' Gideon Bensen. - Channel V

"Service Bells - Undertaker"

Formed in 2013 by ex-Cameras Fraser Harvey and Mike Morgan, along with Ben Morgan and Bill Johnston, Service Bells have fast become one of our favourite bands in Sydney. They even played our 6th Birthday Party! What legends. And we can tell you from that show that they deliver unquestionably powerful, provocative and entertaining live shows that balance their love of rock n' roll with a tight sound. Putting it bluntly: these guys know what they're doing.
Today the band are teasing us with a new track taken from the forthcoming self-titled EP, featuring guest vocals from Gideon Bensen (The Preatures). "Undertaker" is well crafted rock and roll at its best. - The AU Review

"New Single: Service Bells - Undertaker"

Sydney punk-rock gents Service Bells have just dropped a track off their forthcoming, self titled EP due next May called ‘Undertaker’.
The track features vocals from none other than Gideon Bensen of The Preatures, adding to the heavier sound we are now seeing from the fellas. Expect plenty of washed out, distorted guitar and a sore neck from nodding your head to them cymbals crashin’. Fun fact, it’s also a free download.

The release follows Service Bells’ appearance on the Manimal Records tribute album to Duran Duran; alongside heavies like Moby, Little Dragon and Warpaint. - Half Baked Music

Bio

Hello, friend. It is certainly a great relief to welcome your safe and timely arrival. Is it by some coincidence or magic that our celestial paths should have become thus entwined? Nay. Be not mistaken, that is bacon in your Bloody Mary. Step forth; refasten your weave and cast the deli tray aside, allowing Service Bells to guide your ascendancy toward rock and roll Valhalla.

Service Bells formed in 2013 by Fraser Harvey and Mike Morgan (ex- Cameras), Ben Morgan (Sleepercar/ex-Ernest Ellis) and Bill Johnston. The band released their debut single ‘Metropolis’ in late 2013. They have recently completed their self-produced eponymous debut EP, to be released early 2015 and have also recently featured on ‘Making Patterns Rhyme’, a Manimal Records tribute to Duran Duran along side Warpaint, Moby, SOKO, Barbarian and more (released October 28 2014). They were FBi Radios Unsigned artist of the week in March and Channel V chose their latest single “Undertaker” as one of the best new songs to look out for in late October.
