Warrenton, VA (May 15, 2009) – Independent Christian rock band Serving1 has overcome many challenges over the last two years. Weathering personal and professional storms, Serving1 remained determined to write and play music that would uplift listeners with a message of faith, hope, and redemption, all while challenging preconceived notions of what Christian music should sound like to craft what the band calls “God Rock.”
Although they initially worked with local independent record labels, Serving1 eventually opted to record their album themselves. The band invested over eight months into self-producing their debut album over the course of two years, all while maintaining full-time employment and battling the world-class Washington, D.C. rush hour traffic. Supported by families and friends, their efforts paid off and the band is the first unsigned act to be featured on www.FishMP3.com.
“At FishMP3.com, we look for bands and artists who exemplify a focus on presenting the life of Christ as well as promoting the message of Christianity,” said Tracy Parker. “In Serving1, we have found both, and we couldn’t be happier.”
Serving1 are: Joe Palmer, lead vocals; Phil McCarty, lead guitar; Zeig Zeigler, bass guitar; Bob Simmons, drummer

About Serving1
Serving1 is committed to serving the one high God. It’s our belief in playing music that defies categorization, music that reaches across boundaries of genre, age, race, color, denomination, and creed. We believe in the message God has given us; we believe that it will help save those who have not heard of God’s love or forgiveness, and that it will remind people that there’s power in the blood of Jesus to mend broken hearts, make the lame to walk, the blind to see, and set the captives free. We have been described as energetic and our boldness and passion resound through original music mixed with a few covers. We offer a musical fusion that can draw in those who would not normally come to church.
