Five ladies. one band. Too much fun. Sestina started out as a revolt against rock-band playin' boyfriends/ husbands/ friend-boys. Why should they have all the fun? Come to find out they were not half bad at it.
One year of focused practice and writing sessions culminated in their first show- and what a success it was! Since that fateful night, Sestina has recorded a 4 song demo and has rocked such venues as Kelly's Olympian, The Green Room, The White Eagle, Blaze, The Secret Society Ballroom, and Salems Triangle Inn.
Sestina's sound is founded on dirving bass lines and straight forward beats. Clean lead and crunchy rhythm guitar lines fill out the sound while the keyboards and vocal harmonies deliver catchy, up-beat melodies. Their music has been influenced by bands such as the Killers, the Pixies, U2, Spoon, Shins.
