BandAlternativeEDM

Intelligent, up-beat, electronic. Art songs, love songs, and fed-up with corruption and lies songs - that you can dance to.

Biography

Bryan and his first high school band won the senior talent show at East High School in 1988 and as a result were invited to a two week band camp put on by a major label. But Bryan was obligated to serve in the US Army and could not attend. While in the Army and in Germany Bryan became heavily involved in the Eurpoean Goth scene. Artists such as The Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim were influential as well as the Nine Inch Nails album 'Pretty Hate Machine'. Bryan completed his military service and was honorably discharged in 1991. Bryan took a year off to travel Europe and afterward bought his first professional keyboard (the venerable Ensoniq TS-12) and was introduced to sequencing. Bryan spent the next couple of years composing before being invited to audition for the keyboardist position in the band Shadowplay in late 1994. After joining the band the name was changed to 'Down By Dawn'. Ten months later and right after playing with Indian Rope Burn and opening for Sister Machine Gun, Down By Dawn disintegrated. Then in 1996 Bryan joined 'Insect', again as a keyboard player. Insect opened for Third Eye Blind and Dink and played for packed venues including the Odeon and the main stage at the Cleveland Agora. For financial reasons Bryan left 'Insect' in 1997 and formed SET TO BURN. SET TO BURN has had many members over the years and including Scott Kaczmarek who went on to Disown, Alan Siebert of Abdullah, Jim Curtis of The Terry Barret Band, and Chris Wasem of Shadowplay and Fates Warning. Having spent almost two decades playing, writing, singing, and producing Bryan is making the push of a lifetime. SET TO BURN is adding new members and planning a new album release for late 2008. The time is ripe for SET TO BURN.

Lyrics

Speak The Language

Written By: Bryan Stauffer

Diversify, separate
Perpetuate the lies
Instill more hate
New approach
Subtle segregation
No more hope
Divided nation
Hearts unpure
Evil minds
Unto darkness
Pockets lined
This is what they want
Will you give it away?
And you're who they want
To comply and obey

Speak the language
Speak the language
Speak the language
Speak the language

Intensify, exacerbate
Pretend the past is now yeah
Swallow the bait
Same old lies
Turn you against your brother
Killing yourself
It's exactly what they want yeah
Savage traitors of American life
Stupid rotten demons
They thrive on strife
This is who they are
Usurping your right
To have a life of peace
And sleep through the night

Speak the language
Speak the language
Speak the language
Speak the language

Diversify, yeah
Separate us
Perpetuate the lies
And continue to hate us

Diversify, yeah
Separate us
Perpetuate the lies
And continue to hate us

Diversify, yeah
Separate us
Perpetuate the lies
And continue to hate us

Diversify, yeah
Separate us
Perpetuate the lies
And continue to hate us

They hate us
Washington hates us

Diversify, separate
Perpetuate the lies
Instill more hate
Fighting forever and forever more
It's the only final outcome
For a people so torn
Hearts unpure
Evil minds
This is what they want
These greedy elite
Now be a good boy yeah
And fetch some new meat

Speak the language
Speak the language
Speak the language
Speak the language

Unreal

Written By: Bryan Stauffer

Days go by hard at work
Moving ever onward toward oblivion
Head first and at full speed

I feel the rush
When it all almost comes loose
But I'm still hangin' on
And holdin' out

You want to know how it feels?
Well everything's just fine
I'll show you how it feels
And make you mine
You're out there everywhere
Don't be afraid this time oh no
I'll show you how it feels to feel

Time's played it's tricks on me and slipped by
Knowing it'll happen's little consolation

Waiting and wanting
All this maddening anticipation
I step out into the night
Tonight

You want to know how it feels?
Well everything's just fine
I'll show you how it feels
And make you mine
You're out there everywhere
Don't be afraid this time oh no
I'll show you how it feels to feel
Unreal

You want to know how it feels?
Well everything's just fine
I'll show you how it feels
And make you mine
You're out there everywhere
Don't be afraid this time oh no
I'll show you how it feels to feel

You're out there everywhere
You're out there everywhere
You're out there everywhere
Everywhere
You want to know how it feels?
Well everything's just fine
I'll show you how it feels to feel
Unreal
