We are a fun, accessible, memorable band that gets our audiences tapping their toes and dancing to a great mix of Americana/pop covers and originals. Our music goes for the heart...and the gut! We are an ensemble in the best sense of the word and we focus on seamless musicality and vocals.

Combining elements of Roots, Folk, Classic Country, and Americana , Sevastopol serves up a satisfying brew of original compositions and familiar cover tunes. Made up of Steve Smith, Mark Walczak, Paul Sendry, Jill Guse, and Mark Peterson, Sevastopol’s savory blend of vocals, acoustic guitars, bass, keyboard and percussion leaves audiences asking for seconds.

Sevastopol ’s musical influences include Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Band, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Son Volt. Their repertoire features original material as well as classic numbers by artists ranging from Chris Isaak to Hank Williams to Uncle Tupelo.

Southeastern Wisconsin venues where Sevastopol has performed include Wells Street Tavern, Donges Bay Club, Riverwalk Bistro, Silver Creek Brewpub, the Bay View Bash, Linneman’s, Conway’s, Bavarian Inn, The Coffee House, and Borders Books and Music. Numerous performances at charity and fundraising events include Milwaukee Empty Bowls, Rays Awareness Block Melanoma 5K Run/3K Walk, and the Rainbow Preschool Silent Auction.

We have recorded a demo cd of four original compositions. We're hoping to do more recording this year.

Set List

We play about half covers and half originals, generally mixing them up to put together fun, enjoyable show. Our favorite covers include Into The Mystic (Van Morrison), Harvest Moon (Neil Young), So Long Baby Goodbye (The Blasters), Green River (John Fogerty), Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash) and other great, memorable tunes you won't hear performed by a lot of other bands. We also think our originals hold their own pretty well against these classic covers!
