"Hundreds of Pets Need Homes Local Musicians Give to a Cause"

Tacoma, Wash. (June 4, 2012) – On Saturday, August 4, 2012, Dugan Foundation will present the sixth Woofstock, one part fantastic entertainment and one hundred parts great pets that need a home. It is free for the whole family and a whole lot of fun. Last year over 109 animals found homes at Woofstock in six hours!

Amongst the trees and grass at beautiful Todd Field at the University of Puget Sound, spread out over 30 booths, over two hundred pets are ready to play and meet the family. To make sure you get the right fit, there are fenced meet and greet areas where everyone (including pets) can meet and play with adoptable animals. There are dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and ferrets, spending the day with a constant cycle of family friendly entertainment on stage and off, plus pet related shopping and services.

The local music line up this year is surpassing that of any year before. Maya & Matt, Gina Belliveau, Kim Archer Band, Sevens Revenge and Automatic Theory create a great mix of Celtic, soulful pop, R&B and alternative rock. All of the musicians give their time for the cause – the cause, finding homes for as many homeless animals as we can.
This year’s event celebrates tremendous support and events from the community. We’re featuring WOOFD2 and their Disk Dog Demonstration, as well as a kid zone sponsored by Gig Harbor Academy featuring games, face painting, and more.

Woofstock 2012 is aimed at bringing people together to have a great time and to collaborate in support of developing Washington State into a sustainable, no-kill community. We encourage everyone, including pets, to come and experience the most enjoyable August day for families, and to make it the luckiest day in an adopted animal’s life! - Melisa Evangelos, Woofstock

"Top Area Musicians to Perform at Fifth Annual FISH Food Benefit Concert"

A slate of outstanding area musicians will perform back-to-back June 3, 3-7 p.m. at the fifth annual FISH Food Benefit Concert for FISH Food Banks of Pierce County. Held this year for the first time at Louie G’s (5219 Pacific Hwy. E. in Fife), this all-ages event also includes lots of free door prizes along with a raffle and a silent auction featuring all kinds of items and services.

This year the goal is to raise $10,000 for FISH Food Banks, a non-profit, ecumenical organization of volunteers providing food to individuals in need through seven food bank locations. Every dollar raised at the concert will go to FISH, and when it comes to stretching a dollar, FISH volunteers are masters.

“People may think that $10,000 isn’t a lot of money, but with the buying power of FISH Food Banks, every $1 donated is, for them, $7,” said Raymond Hayden, CEO of Maurice the Fish Records, which is presenting this year’s concert event with Sweatbox Entertainment, Northwest Convergence Zone (NWCZ) radio, The Lenderman Academy and Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Since launching in 2008, this concert has consistently raised about $1,000 more than its previous year. Admission is a suggested donation of $10, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

“Anything helps,” Hayden said. “We know times are tough, so if you’re struggling for cash and can give $5, that’s fine. Just come to Louie G’s and enjoy the show. You get four hours of some of the best bands in the Northwest. It’s a huge value for the dollar.”

The variety of musical offerings featured at this annual concert has become practically a trademark of the event, as each artist brings something different to the stage:

•Heidi Vladyka (acoustic folk-pop)
•James Coates (“One of the strongest, most soulful voices I’ve ever heard,” Hayden said.)
•Rafael Tranquilino (a blues guitarist like no other)
•Kim Archer (soul and funk)
•Sevens Revenge (straightforward rock)
•The Fat Tones (toeing the edge of blues and rock)
•Sweet Kiss Momma (the next generation of Southern rock)
•Mr. Von (hip-hop for the masses/Sweatbox Entertainment).

The number of items for the silent auction doubled over last year and includes local artwork, Tacoma Rainiers tickets, massages, photography packages, blocks of time at area recording studios, concerts donated by five bands, speaker cabinets from AMPEG, earbuds from SHURE and more. The raffle will offer music merchandise such as band T-shirts and CDs. - Matt Nagle/Tacoma Weekly

"New Sheriff In Town: Tin Star Records Grows Roster, Personnel And Territories"

(Los Angeles, CA) - Tin Star Records, the latest addition to Ave Vox Music Group, has added two new acts and appointed a new regional head.

The label, whose main offices are located in Los Angeles, CA with studios in the resort town of Sheridan, WY, has expanded its reach into the Pacific Northwest with the appointment of Susan Renville as Regional Head of Operations in the Tacoma, WA satellite office. Renville was recruited from Maurice The Fish Records of Tacoma, WA, where she spent the past several years contributing to the development of the Northwest Music Scene as co-owner of the regional label alongside Raymond Hayden. Renville has also recently been appointed as Manager at NWCZ Radio, the top-rated Northwest online broadcaster.

Tin Star Records’ roster has been expanded with the October signing of Wyoming-based Southern Rock band Rebel Raised and November signing of Northwest Alt Rock band Sevens Revenge. Both acts were signed not only for their sound but for their substantial following.

Rebel Raised is the Rocky Mountain West’s premier four-piece posse. Hot Outlaw Country that sizzles with Southern Rock spice, the hook-driven sound of Rebel Raised has reverberated down to Nashville where in 2010, the band accepted an invitation to play the Country Radio Seminar (CRS). The blow-out showcase spawned a flurry of producer meetings and delivered a working relationship with Lynn Herron (Brian White, Jamie O’Neil and Andy Griggs). Rebel Raised has gone on to share stages with Andy Griggs, Diamond Rio, the Charlie Daniels Band, Jamie O’Neal, Darryl Worley and Grammy Winner Bryan White (duet with Shania Twain “From This Moment”). The band has been featured in numerous periodicals including ‘Nashville Music Biz’.

Like the shadowy Pacific Northwest from which they hail, Sevens Revenge reaches into the deepest crevice of the human psyche with a dynamic sound drizzled in dark, sweet overtones and painfully addictive self-revelation. The band’s powerhouse yet reflective style immerses the listener in their own underground chasm of introspection. Enrapturing audiences on stages nationwide from New York to Dallas to Seattle, the band’s intensely personal and explosive energy has lead to headlining positions at The Hard Rock Café, Seattle as well as many other regional festivals. November 31st 2012 marks the release of the band’s debut album, ‘Distortion of Reality’, whose lead-out single ‘This Is Me’ has already gained airplay in the Los Angeles area.

Tin Star Records LLC is a joint venture co-owned by multi-award winning artist, writer and producer Danielle Egnew (Los Angeles, CA) and event logistics coordinator Roy Pack (Sheridan, WY). Tin Star Records is proudly partnered with legendary microphone and audio company Shure, Inc, with the Tin Star Studios powered by Shure -- the only all-Shure commercial recording studio, the first of its kind -- featuring Shure's Studio KSM series. The label is owner of The Oleo Strut, an event venue in Sheridan, WY, and maintains the largest event and entertainment franchise in Northern Wyoming.

Ave Vox Music Group consists of Ave Vox Music Group Records, Tin Star Records, and Maurice The Fish Records. The music network covers three states (CA, WA, WY) and currently maintains a cumulative roster of 26 artists.

“The three-state network is founded on the principle that producing fantastic talent-driven music is not only imperative to listeners everywhere but mandatory in strengthening strong regional live music scenes that positively affect growth and tolerance in everyday communities. We’re a big musical family across many states,” says Danielle Egnew, co-owner of not only both regional labels but owner of Ave Vox Entertainment of Los Angeles, a media production entity under which the music group resides.

"Sevens Revenge celebrates a rebirth and new CD"

Tacoma’s own Sevens Revenge has released their first full-length CD, “Distortion of Reality,” and it represents quite a change for the band in more ways than one. Whereas Sevens Revenge used to be an acoustic duo consisting of frontwoman Dusti Seven and guitarist/vocalist Kristen Cadenhead, three more players have been added and the sound has gone electric, which really was necessary for the band to reach its full potential and do justice to the above-average song writing. The band is excited to sign a new recording contract as well with Tin Star Records, which they will do at their CD release party Nov. 30 at Jazzbones.
To fill out the band, new members include lead guitarist Scott Malone, bassist Cooper Stanley and drummer Ryan Fairchild. All seasoned musicians, each one brings major skills and experience to Sevens Revenge. Their playing on “Distortion of Reality” showcases their musical artistry beautifully, with Cadenhead’s rhythm guitar providing a roughened edge and Seven’s killer, powerhouse voice as the icing on the cake.
“Distortion of Reality” is very different from the band’s debut offering in 2011, the acoustic EP “Edged in Ashes.” Now with Malone’s fluid and emotionally vivid guitar solos, Stanley’s bass sound crafted upon numerous genres of music and Fairchild’s drums punctuating the music and giving it a professional polish, Sevens Revenge stands as a band to watch out for now that they’ve gotten their debut CD out for all to hear.
“It’s our first album together and a prefect representation of where we’re going,” Seven said. “There’s a lot of variety on it and lets us go in a lot of directions.” Always present, though, is the band’s seething and smoldering trademark sound and attitude. It’s not a gloomy vibe, nor a trip through woe-is-me self-indulgence. Rather, Sevens Revenge puts forth a tougher stance instead of being downtrodden by life experiences or just being pissed off.
Imagery of blue flames appears not only in the artwork on the CD cover and the disk itself, but also among the songs such as on “Shades of Blue,” a thoughtful and introspective tune about anger in the face of loss.

“I wrote those lyrics about a year ago at a campfire,” Seven explained. “Everyone had gone off and I was looking just a above the flames.” “Shades of Blue” is melodious, honest and includes tasty Malone guitar solos.
Malone wrote “Tear Your Heart Out,” which Seven said is a favorite among the band mates. It’s brooding and with ample swagger, one of the harder rock tracks on “Distortion of Reality.” The song works well to showcase Fairchild’s drums and Malone’s freestyle guitar work, while Cadenhead’s rhythm guitar gives this track a grinding texture and urgency. On these tracks and all the band’s music for that matter, having a woman on lead vocals gives Sevens Revenge its hook and appeal. Dusti Seven’s voice possesses just enough vulnerability to make it real and just enough fierceness to make listeners sit up and take notice.
At their CD release party coming up Nov. 30, Sevens Revenge will sign with Tin Star Records. Label representatives Roy Pack and Danielle Egnew will be on location for this event along with the band’s sister label Maurice the Fish Records. Special guest The Juliettes open at 8 p.m., and you won’t want to miss this awesome all-female foursome and their wicked and shart sense of humor with songs like “Jagerbombed” and “Hooray You’re Gay.” Tickets are $5 advance and $7 at the door. Bio

Like the shadowy Pacific Northwest from which they hail, Sevens Revenge reaches into the deepest crevice of the human psyche with a dynamic sound drizzled in dark, sweet overtones and painfully addictive self-revelation. Lead vocalist Dusti Seven’s powerhouse yet reflective style immerses the listener in their own underground chasm of introspection. Enrapturing audiences on stages nationwide from New York to Dallas to Seattle, frontwoman Dusti Seven encapsulates the band’s intensely personal and explosive energy. Kristen Cadenhead, Rhythm Guitar and Vocals, lays the groundwork in the songwriting with her hauntingly distinctive touch, pulsing through the band’s nervous system with raw rhythmic energy. Her seamless vocal blend with frontwoman Dusti is an indelible stamp on the band’s sonic identity. Lead Guitarist Scott Malone weaves through the peaks and valleys of the arrangements with subtle brilliance and tasteful creativity, adding edge and essence to an already intoxicating brew. Bassist Cooper Stanley fills the pocket with punch and power, drawing upon multiple genres to pack together a solid bottom end. And Ryan Fairchild on drums throws down a foundation of driving groove and emotion, cradling the eruption of unforgettable expression that is Sevens Revenge.
