SEVENSTONE

BandRock

Biography

With a sound that hearkens back to the vintage blues/soul sound of Muddy Waters or Cream, yet simultaneously embodies the current voice of modern rock; with overtones of Kurt Cobain’s cries, Soundgarden’s drive, and the Foo Fighter’s melody, the three members of SevenStone stand poised and ready to revive the rock genre.

Originally hailing from Upland, CA (in the L.A. Area), brothers Ryan and Brandon Bathauer grew up engulfed in a rich heritage of classical, grunge, jazz, classic rock, alternative, and the blues. Amidst classical training throughout their young lives, the brothers found something true and genuine in the harder, more raw sounds of rock music. Ryan picked up the guitar and began to write a symphony of real and ideal lyrics, while Brandon found a pair of drumsticks and embraced the world of rhythm. Adding in lifelong friend Lars Bennett into the mix as the melodic and funk-based bassist, the band SevenStone was born.

Music, to these three, is a tool that is capable of affecting the hearts and minds of listeners. Besides presenting their own emotions through music, the boys of SevenStone strive to write lyrics and emote music that is real, applicable, heartfelt, and changing. This is shown clearly by their stage presence, which is a whirlwind of movement, laughter, sweat, head-rocking, grimaces, and the like.

With a mind for the poor, the oppressed, the helpful and helpless, the true, the genuine, the passionate, and the profound, Ryan, Brandon, and Lars have set a common goal to use their music to truly affect the world by actively addressing these themes and through the support of charities and like-minded organizations/events. This goal shines through in their music, their performance, their endurance, and their determination.

The passion that fuels Sevenstone’s music makes it alluring as well as fascinating, which helps to explain the loyal and fast-growing fan-base that surrounds the band. Playing shows all around LA and the Inland Valley, SevenStone is reaching more and more ears and becoming a well-known name among the rock scene. They are a must-see act, and their newest recording project, a 7 song EP due out August 2007, has the potential to rocket this group to widespread prominence.
