Bio
710 OIL was formed by Chris Johnson in 1997. In 1998, Chris stole Vincenzo Mastropasqua from a hardcore/death metal band. In 2005, Ian Switz saw an ad in a music store for a band needing a lead guitarist, and within weeks was a member. In 2008, Les Moseley, a longtime friend and audio technician, was called upon to take over as bass guitarist. The circle was finally complete.
In August 2007, they won the 100.5 MAX FM Battle of the Bands. In October of 2007, they released their first self-produced, full length album, No Name. In 2008, and 2009, they were nominated in Portfolio Weeklys Hampton Roads Music Awards for Best Local Metal/ Hard Rock, and Best Live Performance. In August of 2010, they opened for KISS at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater. In October of 2010, they appeared live on Fox43 on the Hampton Roads Show.
